Harry Potter - love or hate it?

I always got the impression from OotP that Snape's "worst memory" wasn't that he was being taunted by James (as is implied in the film), Snape could probably handle it, it's the fact that he lost Lily.

I thought his worst memory was almost getting mauled by werewolf Remus, and thinking that James and Sirius set him up for it ?

I have the book. The cover is hideous. I knew that, and when the guy asked me if I wanted the "child" or "adult" version... I had to shamefully reply "Child :(." I'm not proud, but I had a set going damn it...

I haven't started reading yet, but I did take a look at the dedications.

We readers got a dedication! Yay!

:D

It was an interesting morning. My friend said he was picking me up at 6.30am, but he got here at 6.15, so I was still getting dressed when I heard the doorbell, lol. Awkward.

Then we went to the shopping center. We're both horribly sick... but we lined up anyways and they gave us a ticket to keep our place so we got to wander all around the shop reading books without paying for them :D. We weren't supposed to I'm sure but nuts to them.

Then I got breakfast at the instore coffee shop (Borders rocks!!) then it was time to line up for real and there was a countdown to the book release and then the book was released and then it only took us like five minutes to get them - plus a beanie-baby owl 'cause we preodered :D.

Theeennn we saw someone holding a snake on the way out, and I realised that we'd stumbled upon the reptile show that I'd been so excited about! We saw a carpet python and a blue tounge and a shingle back and the guy asked me a question about reptiles and I got it right. It was awesome.

Oh and there were also people dressed up as witches and wizards, mostly staff. I was considering going as a werewolf but then I chickened out, lol. I did have an owl attatched to my little indian shoulder bag though, and my regular jewelry (dragons, pentagram, dolphin, hematite, red philosipher-like stone...) so I felt fairly magical anyway :P.

After all that I ducked into JB to pick up some DVDs for my mum, and on my way out I saw some guy dressed in a full-on black trench coat with futuristic standy-up collar and silver buckles all down the front... I don't think he was dressed up as anything from Harry Potter, so it was therefore a little weird... but he still looked awesome.

All in all, good morning. Now to just muster the energy to actually read the book, lol...

I know what you mean Mez :(

Am only at 1 2 hundred and something pages but it's a good book so far.

Hoping to see more Fred/George in it, though.

How much did it cost?

Most places are selling it for $30. But, after a while it's gunna go up to it's original price $45.
