How Long You Been a Fan?

I've come and gone over the years. I remember watching the Pilot episode when it first went to air. There had been a lot of hype and we were at a family dinner. All the 'kids' (we were all between 12-16) huddled on the couch to watch this great new show they'd been advertising. I probably watched for a few years, tuning out somewhere in the middle of the Shane/Angel years. I remember following the Nash's (Joel/Natalie/Tom/Gypsy) while they were in town but then think I missed a fair bit. I tuned out for the Sutherland years and came back when the Holdens moved to town.

I've watched it all my life including the day I was born.

My first memories of it though are from when Chloe was on there. I still remember Chloe was my absolute favourite character when I was younger.

I started watching regularly in 1997. I saw very little of Shane/Angel and Shannon/Selina...so I never really warmed to any of them. Justine, Joey, and Sam were my favorite characters of that time. I wish I recorded more episodes back then, as I didn't start recording until the Sutherland years (2001-2004).

I started watching Home and Away because of the Sarah Lewis storyline. I fell in love with Peter Baker  and since that day iv'e never missed an episode.

I've watched it from the very first episode, never missed one since!

Am I right in saying the pilot was shown on a sunday evening here in the UK? (yorkshire region of ITV) or have I just imagined that? I had it recorded on vhs for ages but I don't know what happened to it :(
