Frankie Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I think that those crticising Irene and also Peter show a marked lack of empathy, insight and of understanding about human nature ...about people.... and about the complexity and varitey of human emotions...life is never black and white...its easy for you/us to be judgemental and say someone should react differently when it is not our immediate emotions which are involved.
Danifan Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 It's hard to have empathy for someone who will go out of their way to fight the cause of someone that doesn't really deserve it and yet condemns someone they supposedly love just because they are upset. If she truely loved him she would have had an ounce of sympathy for him rather than selfishly turning her back on him like she did. She made a the situation all about how upset she was rather than bothering to speak to him to see his side of the story, maybe if she had she wouldn't have been so angry. As for Peter he is always so rude to everyone and treats everyone like they are guilty of something, then turns around and expects everyone to trust and like him.
Reo Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 We only saw Irene's reaction after first knowing and i think that was reasonable.. Irene just got her heartbroken, her future with the man she loved and thought she would be with forever gone. And finding out that this man that she loved and trusted had these dark deep secrets of murder. Who knows how she will handling it when she has time by herself to think about it all.. But i think so far, that is the way a perosn like Irene would react and i dont think there was anything wrong in the way she did..in time i hope she does talk to him.. I agree with Peter though, with the whole 'who killed josh' he was so convinced that it was this one person and when it wasnt he was convinced it was another and he treated people really badly during that.. Its a pity that we only see Peter as a cop and not as himself..we saw him with Leah alittle but that turned into nothing.
Danifan Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Completely off topic Reo but i like your avatar, Ric and Matilda are really sweet together. And i know logically Irene's reaction was reasonable but she just annoyed me this episode and the only other time she's really annoyed me was her constant sticking up for Kane, who really didn't deserve it IMO.
Reo Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks I loved that storyline beacuse that scene showed us how close Matilda and Ric are and how important each are to the other..very sad and sweet.. I never liked Kane and didnt like everyone that sided with him..i hated the way kirsty was aswell..getting her family to accept it or lose her..it was out of line..then everything else after that. But with Irene and Barry it is a different situation and we just have to wait and see how she reacts when she has more time to think about it all.
katya Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I think that those crticising Irene and also Peter show a marked lack of empathy, insight and of understanding about human nature ...about people.... and about the complexity and varitey of human emotions...life is never black and white...its easy for you/us to be judgemental and say someone should react differently when it is not our immediate emotions which are involved. I think that's a bit harsh. So if you don't agree with the way Irene reacted you lack empathy, insight and understanding of human nature? Everyone reacts differently in situations, have different perceptions and opinions; and no, life is never black and white yet you seem to think our reaction to this story should be. You also go on to condemn people for being judgemental, yet surely you're judging the people who disagree with you and your personal response to the story?
Bay_Mad Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Cant people give Peter a break??! He must have been under so much stress with being one of the only people knowing Zoe is still alive, no wonder hes been so moody!! Cant we just forgive him for that? And he was only doing his job with the Josh West murder case!
katya Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I've not seen much of Peter recently so I can't comment. I do know he wasn't as crabbit last time around though
Bay_Mad Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Hmm well yes, i'll agree with you there!
katya Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Although I have to say, the mean and moody look does work for him. I can't imagine him being all happy and smiley and carefree. It kinda goes against his character.
