Irene and Peter

In today's episode when Josh's killer was finally revealed (very poor excuse given if you ask me) why did Irene react in such a nasty hypocritcal way to the news. Afterall she was practically all for starting a fan club for Kane and he stole, kidnapped and raped people and was delighted to have him living with her. Also she is no saint herself and her son was in trouble with the law. It's times like this that really make me dislike Irene.

Also Peter kept going on about how people should be in trouble for hiding the truth when that is exactly what he has been doing ever since he came back to the Bay. Why should people be honest with him if he can happily lie to their faces? <_<

Just a minor irritation. (sorry if parts make no sense i was trying to make a point without giving anything away to those who haven't seen it yet)

To be fair though Peter was hiding the truth for a good reason, if Zoe found out that he knew about her then it could have caused chaos. Also isnt it better the townspeople not knowing than forever watching over their shoulder??

I do agree with you about Irene though, she reacted waaay over the top!

Irene's dreams have been taken away from her, they had only just got back together and already she saw it has them together for life, she was in love..and not only was that dream then taken away from her but she had to deal with the fact that this man she loved killed 2 people and has been living with that for 18 years..

I think its more of a broken heart than anything else in Irene's case.

I do agree on the Kane thing though,i dont know how anyone in the bay forgave him.

Irene did what she always did she retreats and hits out when she is hurting and boy is she hurting...as Rachel said...she will go to him when she is ready...but look at it from her point of view...Barry knew the risks and yet rekindled their relationship...she spent a blissful evening, looked like the cat got the cream the next monring so the night hadnt been that bad either and then discovers that the man she loves and has invested all her hopes and dreams in is a double murderer...of course she is going to be angry...but dont worry it doesnt last. I think her reaction was typical and realistic..you cant compare this with Kane or with Nathon as her relationship with them was a completely different ball game they were her kids...not her lover! She is indeed broken hearted...she is totally devastated.

What the hell is it with you narrow minded people.

Irene is reacting from the fact ......oh i see i just got back together with the guy i love......he turns out to be the man i never thought he was.. i see i've got to act carefree like i dont care ..

irene was acting in a "typical" brocken hearted way! if you love some one and you get your heart broken then people react in different ways!

I think she played her part brillianty! (even though I would have liked to see her talking to barry in the police station) really wicked epp, as far as im concerned! xx

Yea it was the fact that Irene had been ready to settle down with a man who had hidden the secret that he killed his wife and then was going to get back together (for what she thought was for good) only to find out that he had lately done it again.

It wasnt the fact that he had killed two people because im sure given the circumstances of the deaths (more self defence) Irene would be one of the first to forgive him, it was more the fact that he didnt feel like he should mention it to the women he was going to spend the rest of his life with.

If we are going to talk about double standards Colleen would be pretty high up there. But then I guess that is indicative of what small town living would be like

Irene acted this way, because she felt betrayed. This was not a bomb shell she was expecting, she though she had spent the night with the man, that was going to part of her life for ever. I though this episode was brilliant, and Irene's reaction to finding out the truth. And the way Barry acted was also great.
