Tamxxx Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I was just wondering sometimes when I looked in Home and away do you remember at times when Pippa was just born , I thought she looked a bit fake and looked like a plastic doll, and then when Tasha had Ella, I saw the sound of crying but Ella was completly lifeless with her mouth not moving, do you think they actually might use doolls sometimes?, Ive heard on Neighbours long ago that they dont always use real food and use plastic food instead and just wondered if H&A might do the same, what else fake items do you think they might use? Mod-note: edited due to spoilers.
Reo Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I thought Pippa looked pretty lifelike lol..but in the UK tasha hasnt had the baby yet..so thats a spoiler for here.. What i never liked was the way VJ and Pippa cried, they were never in the room, but when they cried it sounded weird and they used the same sound for pippa as they did for VJ and it was just weird..didnt sound like a babies cry..
ste Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I remember the sound effect they used for a baby crying when Selina had her neath death experience. Since then I've heard the exact one on just about any show I've watched that's had a baby crying (including UK and American shows. Baby soundtracks must be scarce lol).
emmasi Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 When Ryan "accidentally" burnt VJ's hand, they used this sound effect of a baby crying... VJ's like 3 or something, isn't he? It sounded totally weird. Especially since VJ wasn't actually crying at all - he was just staring blankly at his hand with his mouth closed...
Tamxxx Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 lol when you think about it , it actually gets quite freaky
Drew Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I've noticed this! But I've noticed they haven't used that cry for VJ in awhile.
TabbyCool Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I never noticed the VJ one, that does seem rather weird that they'd use a tape of a baby crying when VJ was as old as he was then! Anyone know what episode number that was, I want to take another look! I think the actual babies have always been real, but it's necessary to have sound effects for babies crying, you can hardly train a baby to cry on demand and it would be cruel to make them actually cry for no reason, so they have to just play the sound and hope nobody notices!
alexx Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 They could just keep the sound recording of Tash’s baby crying and use that, but I’m sure they’ll go back to the same baby that has been crying since 1992 (when I first noticed it in the hospital – which was the same for Dale, baby Shane, Chloe’s baby, Sally’s baby, VJ and any other baby that’s passed through the Bay. It’s that screeching high pitched baby cry that kinda sounds like doors that need oiling…
TabbyCool Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 But does Tasha's baby actually cry? Do they actually get a sound recording of it crying, rather than using a pre-recorded one like they have done in the past?
alexx Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I mean take the crying from the episode last week and use that as another baby soundtrack. Yes the baby was really crying, you could see.
