In fact I quite liked him, but then when they re-introduced him for the 'catching the stalker' storyline I think I pretty much grew to hate him. Of course a lot of his behaviour was due to that fact that he was working on a case, but I find him such a cold, nasty piece of work. He's supposed to be Dan's brother and yet I never really saw that. (not on his part) No connection or emotion. Just blank dullness, snapiness and most of the time agro towards most for no reason in particular. EDIT: Just had to add. His smug sense of self satisfaction when dealing with the stalker and anything he did right (like catching someone) drove me insane!
dncllpyk Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I think because Sam Atwell portayed Kane so well is the reason why some people liked him. If someone else played him I don't there would be as many Kane fans or KK fans and that Kirsty and Kane wouldent of worked out as well if Sam didnt portray Kane. He actually tried out for Tom Nash and Noah Lawson before finally landing the role of Kane. I suspect that the casting people were looking more upon looks for the characters of Noah and Tom rather than acting ability. Noah and Tom wernt as interesting characters as Kane was. I know Kate Richie, Ada Nicodeomou and Beau Brady think Kane is one of the best characters on the show. Another character I forgot to mention yesterday was Hayley Smith/Lawson- Mainly because she was annoying I just didnt like her the only time I liked a little bit was when she was with Mitch. But she used to chuck wobbleys when he so much as talked to Gypsy. And it was none of her business whether Mitch had slept with Gypsy when they were together.

In my opinion it is the same thing. She was also an evil little witch when she was after Ric. Tasha, gullible hippie. Graham, stupid to death, literally! If he had just given the papers to Morag he would probably be alive. Kane, never saw past the rapist. Belle, she caused Flynn's death, evil little witch. Matilda, whinny. Rebecca, talked about music too much. Sorry I am adding three more. Amanda, evil vixen, caused the death of Graham although like I said his stupidity is also to blame. Leah, same reason as Matilda. Angel, just didn't like her name. That should be all now. I have seen periodic episodes between 1995-7 (stopped watching for a while after Shane died) but Prime discontinued showing the repeats so I have boycotted the station ever since! I have watched the main episodes since late 2004 (3845).

He was ok when he first started on the show, but nowadays I really don't like him at all. He's rude, arrogant and pig-headed and always seems to be up to something he shouldn't be. Then he has the cheek to tell Jack off for stuff he does wrong, like keeping Martha's gun a secret and stuff like that, when he's spent the last few months completely lying through his teeth!
Taz Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I don't like it when they give characters personality transplants. It is very off putting. They have in recent years done it to Leah, Jesse, Paris and now Peter. I used to like all over those characters but feel they were spoiled by what the writers did to them. Leah is growing on me again as she is less whiney than she was 2 years ago. Peter is just annoying. At present I have to say I have never warmed to Cassie, she does not connect to the audience in any way for me. I find I do not care about her in the same way as I do some of the others. I don't like Jack either. He is very nice to look at - very nice in fact - but he is a boring nothing character and I don't think much of the acting. I also dislike Amanda. I think I would like her more if they had cast somone else - I feel that the actress just does not do the part justice. On paper Amanda is a character who we would all love to hate - but is doesn't work and I think thats due to the acting not the writing.

If I get started I'll never stop Mattie - She always bugged me, everything was about her and when they tried to make her likable it just made me hate her more. Amanda - God! She has done so much crap! I'm not even going to get started
