And the stories they gave him eg being a best-selling author they were way, way too old for an eleven-year-old. He never came across as a real kid.

As I think has been previously mentioned in this thread, due to there being no other main characters of his age, the writers had no choice but to write storylines allowing him to interact with older members of the cast. This inevitably led to his storylines being far too old for him. The realtionship between Max and Colleen is something which I can never decided whether or not I liked. It had its comical moments (alot of them actually!) and was in many respects 'cute', but a pensioner was never going to fill the gap left by the absence of what the character of Max really needed - a good friend of his own age (preferably a cedit star).

TabbyCool Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I liked Jade some of the time, but the rest of the time she was an annoying, holier than thou, stuck up little brat! I hated it when they did the whole twin swap thing and Jade found out that she wasn't really a Sutherland. She basically refused to speak to her family again and went on a bender with Duncan Stewart instead! It was awful to watch, she was even more annoying than usual! I know it would be hard finding out that you were mixed up with another baby at birth, but Jade acted like she was a completely different person and totally disregarded her family, like it was their fault and treat them like strangers, they might not have been her biological family, but they had always thought they were and they loved her and cared for her in the same way that they had with Dani and Kirsty.

They had to be the worst addition to the Bay I've seen a long bloody time, if not ever. And I'm including Kirsty and Kane in this. I didn't hate them together but as characters that were part of that clan (by the end anyway) I couldn't take them. Plus the 'babe' thing. The main person in that list being... Rhys- Pathetic, weak excuse of a man. Never had any backbone and was always willing to put himself before everyone else. I'm going to stop there as with him I could keep going. Dani-Everything was about her. All the time. But that doesn't suprise me, she did well in picking up the family 'me me me' attitude. Plsu she was always the one standing in the way of Will and Gypsy, and she knew it. Jade-She picked up every one of Kirsty's rejected old boyfriends, I'm suprised that she didn't go for Kane! I'm going to leave the rest as I've gotten the mains ones out of the way. Next was Jude and Shauna. The both of them grated on me. They lacked any sort of substance as characters or a couple. And the way Jude treated Charlotte was exactly the way Rhys treated Beth. I can't think of anybody else right now, but I'm sure it will come soon.
TabbyCool Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 You just reminded me how much I hated Rhys! He was arrogant, ignorant, pig-headed and completely selfish. I was never too keen on Shelley either, she lacked emotion and warmth and wasn't there for her kids when they needed her.
katya Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Yes, I didn't like Shelley either, and I agree with your reasons why. Compared to Beth she's like an ice queen. I also despised Kane but I really don't want to open the floodgates as to why. It could get ugly.
