c120701 Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 I was looking at the website of Barrenjoey Lighthouse, which as many of you will know is situated on Barrenjoey head by Palm Beach (Summer Bay) and noticed this sentence. Later, in 1868, two wooden lighthouses know as the Stewart Towers, were built at either end of the headland to guide ships in. I wonder if that is how TPTB came up with the surname of Alf, Roo, Celia et al, and also the naming of the headland in the show as 'Stewart's Point'?
ste Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Interesting theory. I know that the Stewart family are from Scottish origins so I just assumed they picked a Scottish name. But maybe that had an influence too.
