I was watching a few episodes on my Video Recorder today.

One where all the Hunters get questioned about Graham's death and Beth says "She's only 15" about Matilda, that was in July so she probably still is 15/Maybe 16.

In yesterdays episode Sally commented on how Macca was 5 years older than Cassie, then we found out he was 22 which makes her 17.

And today Ric was drinking alcohol which means he is at least 18 (If that is the legal age in Aus?)

And I'm not sure how old Lucas and Belle are but I'm guessing they are about 16.

So I was just wondering how they are in the same classes at school, I don't know how it works in Aus but I hoping someone could explain it.

Well cassie can be 17 and matilda can be 15 and in the same year..matilda just has to turn 16 soon and cassie would of turned 17 not long ago..i think, that and the school years confuse me,it depends on when their birthdays are..i think lucas is 16..

Ric was held back a year when he came to SBH,so he would of been in robbies year but instead put back into matilda's year.

I think belle must be 16 aswell..

Belle may have had to repeat a year after missing so much school when she ran away, so she could be 17, or even 18 at a push. I think Lucas and Matilda are the same age and Cassie is very slightly older (six months to a year).

I am pretty sure that Tony said Lucas was 17 recently in Australian episodes. I thought at the time it was a bit odd that there was 2 years difference betwen him and Matilda. But then again ages, birthdays and pretty much anything else never add up in soapland! :)

Belle is 16, we found that out when Peter went to Irene's house with the missing persons report.

Cassie and Matilda are the same age, when Colleen held the Miss Groper pageant, Mattie was upset that she couldn't be in it because she was only 15, then Cassie's gran said that they should move with the times and let 15 year olds be in it, just so Cassie could join in.

I think Ric is a year older than Cassie and Mattie. I think Cassie and Mattie would be 16 by now, as would Lucas, although I'm not 100% sure of that.

It was Ric's birthday recently, when Flynn was dying Sally mentioned that it was Ric's birthday in 2 weeks, so if he was held back a year he could have turned 18 just recently.

Unless someone had been held back a year, or skipped a year, there is no way a 15 year old and 17 year old could be in the same class, regardless of when their birthdays are (assuming that Aus school years work the same way as UK ones). In the UK, the cut-off date for starting school is the 31st of August / 1st of September. So a kid who was born on say, 31/08/83 would be in the same year as a kid who was born on 01/09/82, since there is 1 day less than a year between them. If the younger kid was born a day later, they would be in the year below, likewise, if the older kid was born a day earlier, they'd be in the year above.

So Sally said that Macca was 5 years older than Cassie, meaning she was 17, Matilda must be 16 by now otherwise she couldn't be in the same year as Cassie, Ric and Lucas if they are now 17 or 18 in Ric's case. Belle must be 16/Possibly 17 now.

I'm confusing myself.
