Ways characters are addressed

I"m not sure how to phrase this topic. In short, it refers to how certain characters are addressed. For example, Colleen always calls people by their profession name, eg Dr Saunders, Dr Armstrong.

I always find that strange especially as she was close friends with Flynn. Never once did I hear her call him Flynn, always Dr. Saunders.

Also Sally always calls Alf Mr. Stewart! I guess it is because she has grown up with him.

I realize this may be a rather silly topic, feel free to remove it if you wish.

I've always wondered why Sally calls Alf Mr Stewart. It seems a little too formal when you consider how close they are, and how long they've known each other. Perhaps it's a mark of respect.

How did Flynn refer to Alf? Did he call him Mr Stewart as well?

Flynn called him Alf

And if Sally and Fynn would talk about Alf,he would say Alf and she would say Mr Stewart..i think its respect and she always has called him that.

Yep it would probably be quite unusual to suddenly start calling him Alf after years of knowing him as Mr Stewart. All the teens she grew up with called him Mr Stewart too – I think some of the current teens refer to him as Mr Stewart don’t they?

I like it how Morag always calls Alf "Alfred", especially when she's telling him off, which she seems to enjoy doing!

Yes she does always make me chuckle when she's telling him off.

Colleen i think is the only one who at times call Kim by his full name "Kimberley"

Yeah, Colleen refers to Kim as "Young Kimberley" quite a lot, it's funny because nobody else ever calls him that!

Also, all the kids used to call Don Fisher "Flat Head" and Barry was "Jekyll". Irene used to call Josie "Josiebel" too. I'm sure they had a name for Angie too, but I can't remember what it was.
