alexx Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I agree, I hate the Neighbours renovations – they all look like cheap Ikea sets and every house looks like its been decorated by the same designer – its stupid, and doesn’t suit the outdoor location of the way the houses look. The Ramsey house looks absolutely terrible now, and doesn’t look like it’s the inside of the exterior shots of the house, its too fake. The paddling pool in the centre of Lassiters looks cheap and pulls the show down, as does the pub and coffee shop sets – whoever decided to be so drastic in changing everything about the sets in the stupid way they did it made a huge mistake. They just all look so unrealistic and cheap. If H&A changed the school set I would hate it, it looks absolutely fine now, and still looks modern. As mentioned above we need familiar looking sets that link us to the past, otherwise it simply wouldn’t appear to be the same show at all other than the beach.

As mentioned above we need familiar looking sets that link us to the past, otherwise it simply wouldn’t appear to be the same show at all other than the beach. Neighbours had to change the pub and the Coffee shop as asbestos was found in the backlot set, but I don't like the theme park look of the new one, although I quite like the interior of Scarlet Bar. I quite like a lot of the new looks for the houses though, apart from number 28 as they still have the same kitchen, just adapted a bit, so it looks like a cheap bodge job. I think the Beach house is in desperate need of redecoration though as it is beginning to look a bit tired, but I don't want as drastic a change as last time, and I'd like an on-screen explanation. I quite like the changes they did to Summer Bay House when the Sutherland's moved in, putting in new kitchen units, redecorating the kitchen, changing the colour of the fireplace in the lounge - it really gave it a new lease of life without changing it too much. The new furniture helps as well. I really don't think the school needs changing, especially after the last major changes they did to it - the office, I really don't like the way it looks now.
