Is Pippa still fostering?

I know that when Pippa originally left in 1997 Tiegan soon followed and continued to be fostered by Pippa but I don't know if it's been mentioned if she continues to take in new foster kids or if she and Ian have given it up?

Can't say I've ever heard it mentioned. Whenever Sal mentions Pippa, its either 'Pippa' or 'Pippa and Ian', never any mention of any kids. Maybe she 'retired' when she left the Bay, after all, she had been fostering for years. :P

I don't think it's ever been explicitly stated, but I'm two minds - on the one hand, I don't Pippa ever giving it up, but on the other, she was willing to drop everything to stay with Sal following Flynn's death - which would indicate she doesn't have many big commitments, such as raising troubled children.

Yes but Pippa still had her breaks when she was fostering on the show (not including giving birth and being in a coma). And I'm sure Ian could handle the kids for a few days while Pippa flies over.

I agree with Ste - I don't see how Ian wouldn't cope with being alone with the foster kids while Pippa was with Sally for a few weeks/months. It's not like people don't raise kids on their own.

So the question remains, is she still fostering? I guess we'll never know (unless she mentions it sometime).

Speaking of which, wasn't she meant to be coming back for an extended guest appearance, like 6 months or something?

Yeah I read that on these boards a few months ago I think. I was excited when she came back for Sally’s wedding; I thought it would have been then.

I don’t think Pippa is fostering, I think she will some day, but I don’t think it’s been mentioned on the show, and I think if she was fostering its pretty important to the character so it would have been at least mentioned in passing either by Sally or Pippa on her returns.

You're probably right, Alexx, but Home and Away doesn't seem to like to remember what past characters did when they lived in the bay on their visits! Sometimes it seems like they've suffered memory loss.

I'd like to think that Pippa's still fostering. I'm one of those people who likes to think that nothing has changed even though it may have.

I'm like that too, but I have to say, I reckon the fostering has been taken over by Sally now - I don't imagine Pippa still does it. The idea that off screen Pippa has a house full of foster kids again is strange - there could be another mini Summer Bay out there somewhere :D

I kind of had the feeling that when she left with Ian it was to live her own life for the first time, rather than a life that was always focused on the kids. I like the idea of her doing her own thing for a change, but I don't know if she could ever completely give up fostering. Maybe she does an Irene and takes in waifs and strays from time to time.

Also, didn't she and Ian have a baby together? I might be completely wrong on that, but if so I can imagine her wanting to focus all her attention on him/her.
