hey everyone...a while back there were some rumours that a new channel was going to start showing home and away episodes from the very beginning again. There was a website about the new channel as well but I forgot the address. I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything more about this?

Thankyou!!

I think Five are creating some new channels to air on FreeView, a bit like Channel 4 has E4 as well. So obviously people thought that the show would be shown on these new channels. However, it depends for how many episodes Five have the rights (H&A was shown on ITV before Five) to. I personally haven't heard anything else about the appearance of these channels so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I think the rumours were just wishful thinking!

Five would probably have to come to some agreement with ITV and Seven and considering their dispute resulted in a year-long absense of Home and Away in 2000/2001...

It would be good to see some of the old episodes. I'd encourage Five if they suggested it.

There is a channel called Down Under TV which planned to show classic Aussie soaps, dramas, comedies, etc.

Isn't that the channel the person who started this thread is talking about?

The Channel is still in pre-production as far as I know.

I heard on another forum that it is very unlikely that it will ever go ahead.

Well it has an official looking website now though and is in cahoots with Southern Star which looks promising.
