Reo Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Both sides of my family have had it,so me growing up around it didnt make me act any different when seeing a friend once do it.. You can have a normal life with diabetes, but you do need to do things to have that normal life,Ric doesnt seem to do anything different at all.. Another thing he was gone for 3months? wasnt it..how could he still get the insulin he needed.. When a person on a soap has certain health problems it is to always show people watching what it is like for the person and their families and for others to know the details about it and it making them no different to anyone else,so why give Ric diabetes if they arent going to make awareness of it.
-Emily- Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Hes a diabetic, but its only been mentioned about twice.
Foxy Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Hes a diabetic, but its only been mentioned about twice. Well done for repeating something pointed out at the start of the thread, yet again.
ste Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Hes a diabetic, but its only been mentioned about twice. Yes we know. Hence this discussion.
katya Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Yes, I'm sure Ric injecting himself every other episode and discussions about his diet would make for thrilling entertainment. Hes a diabetic, but its only been mentioned about twice. Well done for repeating something pointed out at the start of the thread, yet again. Is there any need to be so rude? No wonder people don't want to post on this forum when members pick on every little thing they can find. If something annoys you is it really so difficult to ignore it?
Foxy Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 But is it so difficult not to repeat something thats been said loads of time already - indeed, the very topic of the thread - without adding your own opinions or what you feel on the subject? And as for picking up on little things......the more you let it go un-noticed, the more somthing gets out of control.
katya Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 If someone wants to voice an opinion they will, but maybe some members aren't quite as articulate as others, but still want to be involved in the forum. And who are you (or anyone else) to dictate what they say? I see your point about little things going un-noticed and subsequently getting out of control, but my objection was with the tone of your post. I think people are much more likely to respond positively to polite and friendly reminders of rules and encouragement to expand on their thoughts, rather than posts that patronise and belittle them. I know if I was Emily I'd think twice about posting on this forum again.
Liz Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 You have both made some valid points, but this isn't the place, guys. I think that it's important to remember when posting: 1. Read back a few posts before replying to avoid repetiton. 2. Be more tolerant when someone slips up and try to be as polite as possible. 3. Try to avoid 'public arguments'. Can we get back on topic now please?
Jacz2202 Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Yes, I'm sure Ric injecting himself every other episode and discussions about his diet would make for thrilling entertainment. Do I detect a small hint of sarcasm there?! I agree, but it would be good to mention it occasionally.
rootortoise Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 ok well i didnt even know ric was a diabetic until i read this thread!!!!!..hmmm so maybe they should make us a little more aware of this occasionally!!!
