I've said it before, but they should have had Irene marry Donald and Ailsa commenting about coming across that name in the past.

It is for that reason that (to me anyway) there is a kind of blurred line between H&A and S&D. Not that I'm saying one is a continuation of the other or anything, that wouldn't make sense at all. I just think that when Judy, Corny, Rowena etc were all on the show together they could have dropped a little in-joke here or there.

Yes, that would have been good! I remember that Alyce Platt and Ian Rawlings (Jen and Philip in Neighbours, Wayne and Amanda in S&D) did something like that. In Neighbours, I remember one scene when either Jen or Phil made a toast to 'sons and daughters'. This may not have been an in-joke of course, but who knows? Like the time Morag said to Alf, 'I have one thing to say to you Alfred... Goodbye' (in the style she used on The Weakest Link!)
