suzannelgnz Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 As you know this is also my 1st tut Especially for Emsan We will be going from this http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/suza...snap-203981.png to this Do Not Use for your own site unless I give you permission ©Suzannelgnz Crop your image and prepare the base. I also duplicated the image twice and placed both layers on screen Layer 1 fill with 9ae2b7 and set to Saturation Layer 2 fill with fbe9b7 and set to overlay Layer 3 fill with f5ca1d and set to saturation Layer 4 fill with 899395 and set to hard light Layer 5 fill with 52abb8 and set to colour burn. I changed the opacity to 50% With all fill layers; play around with what colours you use... You might find that a slightly different shade of the same colour works better with the icon that you are making. You will also need to play a round with the opacity too. Variations, use gradients or textures in similar colours to what I have suggested Variation2 Instead of setting the duplicates to screen, duplicate the base 4 times, desaturate copy 1 &2, set to screen, copy3 set to softlight, and copy 4 to linear dodge @ 40% Can't wait to see your results!!
Emsan Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 YES thank you! I will try it out as soon as possible
Emsan Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Here are a new tutorial from me too lol. This is what we are going to do now: It's super duper easy, I promise you. Step 1 First off take this texture and paste it a blank canvas in the size 100x100 px. Step 2 Take your picture and paste it above the texture. Then erase the picture so it only covers the light paper. To do this you can either use the eraser tool, or you can use the pen tool. I love to use the pen tool because it gives it better edges. Another tip is to make the image invisible and then use the pen tool. In this way you will see the edges much better. Then when you are going to delete it, make the layer visible again. Anyway, if you are not an advanced PS user, just use the eraser. Step 3 Duplicate your picture (ctrl+j) and desaturate it (ctrl+shift+u). Set this layer to Overlay 100%. Step 4 Make a new layer and fill it with the color #272a47. Put this layer on exclusion 100%. Step 5 Add some saturation (layer-new adjustment layer>hue/saturation). I put up my master saturation on +30. Step 6 Add this texture, move it around and put it on Lighten 100%. Erase those parts that doesn't fit in. My icon after step 6: Step 7 Take this texture and put it on Screen 100%. Move it around until it fits. My icon after step 7: Step 8 Stamp your image (ctrl+alt+shift+e) and add a gaussian blur (filter>blur>gaussian blur). Lower the opacity of this layer to around 20%. Step 9 Stamp your image once again (ctrl+alt+shift+e) and sharpen it (filter>sharpen>sharpen). And you are done!
