Abi Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Great tutorial! Here is my result: Definitely not better than your one though!
chari0t Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Emma, on step 9, when I go to Filter and render, lightning effects don't highlight. Any idea why?
Luc Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Great tutorial This is my first attempt of something complicated on Photoshop, and I don't really like the way it turned out...
chari0t Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 What a shock that it was Summerland Great result!
matticus01 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 hmmmmmmmm well . . . I've never done this before but I've upgraded to photoshop CS3 Maddie (purple_butterbear) wanted a tut for this so here I am STEP 1 Take your selected picture and select all of it (ctrl+A) STEP 2 Open a new layer box (ctrl+N) and then paste your image (ctrl+V) and crop it to the size you would like it. STEP 3 Here we go. Now were going to brighten your image (Image>Adjustments>brighten/contrast) and brighten it to whatever you feel comfortable with, I done mine all the way. STEP 4 Now go to (Layer>New fill layer>Solid colour) and exclusion it with an opacity of %60 with the following colour #0e2eab. STEP 5 Now were going to change the exposure so go to (Image>adjustments>exposure) and then set the following to Exposure +1.65 Offset -0.2529 Gamma Correction 1.02 STEP 6 Now were going to add another colour so go to (Layer>New fill colour>Solid colour) and exposure it to %25 and fill it with this colour #171196. STEP 7 Now another color so go to (Layer>New fill colour>Solid colour) and lighten it to %20 with the colour #ffffff. STEP 8 Now take this texture and paste (ctrl+V) it and set the blend mode to multiply with the opacity at %50. STEP 9 Now take this texture and overlay it with the opacity at %50. STEP 10 NOW...this is very important . . . Duplicate the texture from STEP 8 (ctrl+J) and set the blend mode on multiply with an opacity of %20 BUT making sure the texture from STEP 9 is still the top layer! STEP 11 FINALLY add you lighting by going to (filter>render>lighting effects) and play around with it a bit until you are satisfied with your lighting effect and you have it where you want it to be. Add you text if you want any and then that is it . . . YOUR DONE! Would love to see some icons made . . . Have fun guys
~Maddie~ Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *GOES OFF TO MAKE AN ICON* BBS with my result
