~Rosey~ Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 could someone do a tut on how to make a good sig? I suck at them and want to learn more
Eli Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 I changed it a little, cause the image I used didn't go very well with the adjustments at the end, and it looked like Taylor had a really bad rash on her face Anyway, here's my result: And here's another tutorial from me. I was asked to do it on a different forum, so I decided to post here as well.
.Cat. Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 There are a few things you could do... 1. Cut both pictures from their backgrounds, and paste both on a new white canvas, and go from there, so now both pictures have the same background. I think I did that with this: 2. If one of the pictures backgrounds is big enough, you could cut the other picture from it's background and paste it on the other picture. I did that with these manips: 3. Otherwise, you could just blend the backgrounds with the rectangular marquee tool, with feathering. If you want me to morely explain any of the steps, say the word Thanks Cat. I would like you to explain more, if that OK. I really just don't get the gist of blending 1. Cut both pictures out from their original backgrounds, using the lasso tool. In the toolbar at the top, it should say 'Feather'. Enter in about 0.5px. Paste both on a new background (white canvas, tecture e.t.c) Example: 2. Say picture A has a lot of space around it. I could cut out picture B and paste it on top of the extra space. Example: 3. I did a blending tutorial on my LJ a while ago, which you can find here. The second part in the tutorial was what I was talking about before.
~Rosey~ Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 *bump* Could anyone give me a good tutorial for sigs/blending. I suck at them
.Cat. Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Try looking through the more earlier part of the thread...there's some stuff for blending/sigs there.
Reo Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I was asked to do a tutorial for this image.. I didn't have the layers saved though,so had to try it from the start,I think I got pretty close..The only thing I can see is different is the colour of his face..So here it is anyway.. Im not sure if you need to do all points in the tutorial, some may not be needed at all or do very little..But this is just the way I went with it. From to or I know the nose looks alittle odd,its the shadow and was like that in the original picture. Crop your image and sharpen. Dupicate your layer and screen 100% several times (Depending on your original picture, I screened 3 times) Dupicate your base layer>Drag to the top and set to Soft Light 100% Dupicate base> Drag to the top set to Multipy 100% and desaturate (Image>Adjustments) Dupicate base> Drag to the top and set to Soft Light 100% Dupicate a screen layer and drag to the top Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Colour #00223a> Set to Exclusion 100% Dupicate base> Drag to top set to Overlay 100% and desaturate (Image>Adjustments) Hue/Sat> Master> Sat +39 (Layer> New Adjustment Layer) Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Colour #025590> Set to Exclusion 42% Dupicate Base> Drag to top> Soft Light 100% Colour Balance> Midtones> -61 -23 -18 Dupicate Base> Multiply 16%> Desaturate Selective Colour> C= 26% M= -23% Y= -68% B= -6% Flatten Layers Smooth the face carefully with the smudge tool at 16% Strength And add a border if you wish Not quite sure how it would work with other images though..
