GIMP: Tools on Toolbar

Here, I’m going to explain what the Tools on the Toolbar do, From left to right:

Rectangular Marquee Tool: Selects a Part of the Image

Circular Marquee Tool: Selects a Circular Part of the Image

Lasso Tool: Click and drag around on the Image to create a Custom Selection

Magic Wand Tool: Selects a Random Part of Image

Select Regions by Color Tool: Click on a Part of the Image and it Selects every Part of the Image with the same Color

Scissor Tool: -

Handel Tool: -

Color Picker: Picks the Color off the Spot you’re clicking on

Zoom Tool: Zooms

Measuring tool: Measures Distances and Angles

Move Tool: Moves Layers and Selections

Crop Tool (Brush Symbol): Crops and Resizes Images

Rotation Tool: Rotates Layer or Selection

Flip Tool: Flips Layer or Selection

Brush Tool: Draws on the Image with a Brush (Double click to change Brushes)

Stamp Tool: Paint using Patterns or Image Regions

Blur & Sharpen: Double click to Change from Blur to Sharpen

Smudge Tool: Smudges Image

Dodge and Burn Tool: Double click to change

Colorize image: Changes Hue/Saturation/Lightness

Curves: Adjusts Curves (Fun Tool!)
