Eli Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 Coloring tutorial -Kirst- requested a tutorial for the coloring on this avatar: Now my computer hates me, so it won't be just like it, but I'll try my best to recreate it. Going from to (I know my result sucks, I should have used a different image. Images with a lot of contast are good.) 1. Sharpen your image, then go over the skin with a blur tool. 2. Resize and crop image until you have a base you're happy with. 3. If you want to you can sharpen and blur the skin again after resizing, I did. (the first three steps may be skipped if you already have a base you are happy with) 4. Create a new layer 5. Go to your color palette and input e40377 so you get a red-pink-ish color. 6. Use a circle brush (hardness 0%) to go over the part where you want the pink-ish effect. You should now have something like this: 7. Go to your color palette again and input 428ad3 8. Same as 6., but with a different part of the base. Make sure the colors blend a little at the middle of the base. You should now have something like this: 9. Set the layer to Screen, and if you want to (depending on image you're using) adjust the opacity. 10. Create a new layer. 11. Press ctrl+A on your keyboard. Then go to Edit>>Stroke. Set the color to black and the settings to 1px. (press OK, and then deselect the selection) And you're done!
Guest [x]whacko[x]jen[x] Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Does anyone have 'Photo shop pro XI'? I really need some help please
~Amy~ Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 From to Start off with your base, do whatever it is you usually do. Mine: 1. Duplicate base three times: first to screen 100% second screen 100% third screen 63% 2. Layer >> new adjustment layer >> selective colour: red: -46, 0, 18, 0 yellow: -6, 0, -23, 0 neutrals: 36, 9, -29, 0 3. Duplicate the selective coloour layer but layer the opacity to 23% 4. Layer>> new fill layer >> solid colour enter in #97BBFF. Set it to colour burn 30% 5. layer >> flaten image. And you're done. Other examples:
.Amy. Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I don't know what I'm doing wrong, my selective coloring isn't working right. I have tried colored avatars and Black and white but the only coloring that works is neutral. Any ideas?
aejdude Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Sorry, don't know what to do about that. Here's the tutorial you requested . My 3rd Tutorial 1. Open your image/icon. 2. Click the square icon on the tools toolbar and scroll down until u get to Rectangle Tool. Example Here 3. Drag out a rectangle, preferably quite thin and fairly long. 4. Colour your rectangle, I used #8B5192. 5. As you can see from the first screencap the rectangle I created isn't long enough, so once you've got the rectangle coloured right click on the rectangle layer and select Duplicate Layer. 6. Position your rectangle where you want it. Then move the new second rectangle and make sure it is in line with the first rectangle. This is what mine looks like: Clicky! 7. Now all that's left to do is add text and you get this result: That's it! You're done!
