Eli Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks Did I use the one you posted? *feels stupid* I just used a random one, but when you say so I think you might be right I have tried with other pics and gradients now, but I think my first attempt (the Jen one) turned out best of them. I will try more tomorrow, I guess I need some practice
~Natasha~ Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 This tutorial wouldn't have happened, had it not been for a tutorial by .Cat. Steps 5 and 7 are from her, with my alterations. From to this: 1. Open image, sharpen once (crop to 675x300) 2. Duplicate layer, set to screen, 3. Merge layers. 4. Duplicate layer. Filter → blur → gaussian blur, 1.7pixels 5. Set blurred layer to soft light. 6. Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid color. #5c6af4, set to Color Burn, 40. Another New Fill Layer. #ff5fa, set to Softlight, 30. 7. Now get your text tool, and write whatever you want (it works better in White). Right click the text layer, and go down to Blending options. Select "Drop Shadow", and "Outer Glow" instead of using the ”awful” yellow color for gradient (at least that’s what PS wanted me to use), use color #F7B4D9 (I eye-dropped it from her dress). Same with any brush you might use. This tut is AMAZING! Thanks so much Merc & Cat x
-Emily- Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Heres a tut for transparent images, because I'm bored, and have no life You need to start with a transparent background. Look here:- Open you image. I used the polygonal lasso tool to cut around my image and put it on the background. I then stroked my image. Then, I saved it as .gif, and made sure transparency was ticked. Hope this helps
-Emily- Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Colouring tut:- Going from this to this To fix the opacites I added a curves layer:- Input:- 91 Output:- 113 Selective color layer:- Reds:- -100 +100 -29 0 Cyans:- -100 +100 +100 0 Neutrals:- +60 -14 -45 -15 New hue/saturation layer:- Up the saturation to 24 Add a fill layer:- #5C473D set to softlight 70% Color balance layer:- Midtones:- -10 +12 +18 I'd love to see results!
SfanS Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Sounds too complicated for me! But I'll give it my best shot.... Tutorials! After Sevenpudding's suggestion, it was decided to have all the turotials in one thread. Please post your tutorials here. -Mercury_Girl. From to this Crop the image. Use the brush tool to go over the little picture. Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen Use the Blur tool at 50% strength to smooth out her skin, pick a small soft brush. ONLY the skin, not the eyes or lips. To add contrast I use curves. Layer>>New Fill Layer>>Solid colour # 100943, dark blue, set to exclusion, 100% Layer>>New Fill Layer>>Solid colour # EC76DD, pink, set to soft light, 86% Duplicate base, drag it to the top, set to soft light, 100% Duplicate base, drag it to the top, Filter>>Blur>>Gaussian = 1.6, set to multiply, 18% Hmmm...I tried this, but I KNOW I did something wrong. Mine turned purple!! Or perhaps I'm just bad... I don't mean to sound needy or anything, but does anyone have any idea for whatI did wrong there? I'm very confused.
.Cat. Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Maybe it just doesn't look good on your image...? >> 1. Crop/resize image, so you have your base. 2. Make a new Curves layer. RGB settings: I: 0 O: 35 3. Make a new Colour Balance layer. Midtones settings: -20, -8, 12 4. Make a new Selective Colour layer. Settings: Reds -100, 18, 56, 0 Yellows -39, 0, 39, 0 Neutrals 10, 2, -19, 0 5. Make a new fill layer. Fill with FAF798. Set to Softlight, 30. 6. Make a new Brightness/Contrast layer. Settings: -8, 14.
-Jade- Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Colouring tut:- Going from this to this To fix the opacites I added a curves layer:- Input:- 91 Output:- 113 Selective color layer:- Reds:- -100 +100 -29 0 Cyans:- -100 +100 +100 0 Neutrals:- +60 -14 -45 -15 New hue/saturation layer:- Up the saturation to 24 Add a fill layer:- #5C473D set to softlight 70% Color balance layer:- Midtones:- -10 +12 +18 I'd love to see results! Thanks for that! I swear I've seen that tutorial somewhere before... But yea, I tried it out, though I tweaked it a bit to work better with the picture and I went from this to this.
-Emily- Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 ^^ Yeah Amir did a tut with that pic somwehre I love the result! [of yours I mean]
Marieh Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 My first tutorial Step 1. First sharpen your base: Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen Step 3. Layer > duplicate layer > set to screen 88% Now your picture should look like this: Step 3. Layer > New adjustment layer > Hue/Sat Master: 0, 13, 0 Reds: 0, 17, 0 Step 4. Layer > New adjustment layer > Color balance Step 5 (optional step) Image > duplicate and drag on top. And you're done Did this make any sense?
