flutterby Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 To make this 1. Crop your image. 2. Duplicate your image. 3. Layer>>new layer Leave the settings at normal 100% 4. Layer>>new adjustment layer>>gradient map>>ok 5. Choose the black and white one, and press ok. 6. Use the eraser tool at 100% strength to erase her top. This way you'll get your original image back. 7. If you erase it all you'll get your original back, but if you just erase her hair, top etc, the rest of the pic will still be black and white. 8. Add text etc and you're done Where did you get the font for this and how do you get it onto Photoshop? Thanks
.Cat. Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 The font is Violation, I think. To download, you go to a site such as Dafont.com, get the font you want, and click to download. Then a pop up comes up that will have 3 options, 'Open', 'Save', or 'Cancel' Click 'save', and on my computer, to save it in the fonts folder I go, My Computer> C Drive> WINDOWS> Fonts, and save it there. I then shut that down, but then again open up My Computer, and do a search for the filename that I saved the font as. When found, I then right click it and there should be an option that says something like "Extract all", and I click that. Then one of those pop ups come up, and you just keep click next until it comes up with the 'Finish' option. Then click 'Finish'. I then go to the fonts folder, make sure the font I just downloaded is in it, and go to File> Install new Font. Then another pop up comes up. It sort of hard to explain, but in this pop up, there should be an option that says something like "My computer". Dobule click on that, and then stuff like 'C Drive' should appear under it. Click 'C Drive'..and all the folders in that will appear..you get me? So 'WINDOWS' should appear, then 'Fonts'. Once you've double clicked 'Fonts', scroll down and you should see your new font there. Double click it. Then at the top of this pop up is a blank square, but double clicking your font, should now have it up there. Click on the font, so its selected, then click "Install" or whatever it says. Thats probably confusing, as I don't know how to explain it any better. I don't know if it'll work for you, though.
flutterby Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Thanks Cat, I managed it! EDIT: Does anyone know what the Home and Away writing is called?
flutterby Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Thanks Amir A while back you said you were going to do a tutorial on how to change eye/lip colour, are you still going to do it? I'd love to know how. Also, sorry to be a pain but I can't find Reporter 2 anywhere for free, do you have a link?
-Emily- Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Since some people use paint, I thought i'd make a tut on how to create a groovy icon. ;) 1. Go to file>>new. 2. Go to Edit>> Paste from. Paste the same image 5 times, and move them around so you have lots of space. Its easier to have an 100x100 px image 3. Use the rectangle tool to put a white line down the left hand side of your base icon. 4. Select a small part of one of your other icons using the select tool. Place it at the top of your white line. When you do this right click the selecttion and click copy 5. Repeat this step by clicking paste and placing the selction below the previous one. 6. Right at the end when your finished, go to image>>attributes and put in 100 on the left box and in the right as well. 7. My icon looked like this: Other icons using the same method:
