~Angel~ Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Hi. This is a question for anyone using CS4, is there selective colouring or the equivalent on CS4? Because I can't seem to see anything like it and it's really annoying me because I can't seem to make avatars without it Thanks in advance
Zetti Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Hey a fellow CS4 user here, there is selective colouring. Go to Image>Adjustments> Selective Colouring
~Angel~ Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Thank you so much. You have made my life so much easier
Emsan Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Are you guys interested in more tutorials from me? I have a lot that haven't been posted here
Zetti Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I would love them. I so need some inspiration and your tuts always do that
Emsan Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Cool Here's one, it's 100x100 though. Resize the texture to 120x120 instead Program: Made with Photoshop but will work with Gimp and Psp too. This is the one we will make: Step 1 Take this texture: And paste it in a new document. Step 2 Take a picture you want and then crop and erase the background. If you are using a cap, add a curves layer and brighten it up, or add some screen layers. Mine looks like this: Step 3 Make a new curves layer (layer>new adjustment layer>curves) and chose these settings: RGB Output: 144 Input: 103 This makes the pic brighter. Step 4 Create a gradient map (layer>new adjustment layer>gradient map). Chose one that goes from Black to White. Step 5 Make another curves layer (layer>new adjustment layer>curves) to add some contrast. Use these settings: RGB Point 1: Output: 0 Input 30 Point 2: Output: 93 Input: 115 Point 3: Output: 176 Input: 172 To make new points just click on the line. This is what I have now: Step 6 To add a cooler effect create a levels layer (layer>new adjustment layer>levels). You don't have to do this if you think yours look pretty already. Use these settings: RGB 18 | 1,09 | 255 Output levels: 28 | 209 Mine looks like this: Step 7 Final step! Take this texture: Put it on the blending mode Lighten. And you are done!
theAdellefan Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 OMG I love that tutorial, I tried it, and this is what I came up with. I changed it a little, and added a screen layer, to make the icon look lighter.
Emsan Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Ooo that's awesome! If it's a dark cap, some screen layers to brighten up the icon is perfect. Good job!
rockstarrr08 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 A tutorial for Georgia To get this ----> colouring Step 1: Crop image to 120x120 pixels in size. Step 2: Duplicate layer and set layer to screen (if it's a dark image use duplicate screen until you are satisified with your image) Step 3: Create a 'Colour Balance' layer; settings as follow. Midtones: -16 = Cyan way -34 = Magenta way +29 = Blue way Shadows: -48 = Cyan way -17 = Magenta way +44 = Blue way Highlights: -14 = Blue way -6 = Magenta way -14 = Yellow way Step 4: Create a new 'selective colouring' layer and use these settings. Reds: Cyan: +100% Magenta: -18% Yellow: +2% Neutrals: Cyan: +47% Magenta: -22% Yellow: +4% Black: -17% Set layer optical to 61% And there you have it, too easy Let me see examples incase I stuffed up lol
