matticus01 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Well... i'm back Mira (mbi615) requested me to do a tutorial for this >>> coloring So we are going from to 1. Crop and resize your image. Now you can either sharpen before or after you do your coloring, it's completely up to you! 2. Duplicate your image. Now this depends how dark your image is... Mine was this dark so I had to duplicate it three times, Screen how ever many times you duplicate and opacity is 100% on all. Mine now looks like this >>> 3. Add a new color fill (Layer>New Fill Layer> Solid Color) Set to Soft Light at 50% with the following color #15e69a. 4. Add a color balance (Layer>New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance) and add these settings Midtones: 100/-19/41 Shadows: 33/24/52 HighLights: -12/12/26 Mine now looks like 5. Add a selective color (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Color) and follow these settings. Red: -100/0/100/0 Yellow: -100/0/100/0 Cyan: -100/0/69 Mine >>> 6. Add a channel Mixer (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Channel Mixer) and add these settings. Red: 133/-49/7 Green: -18/125/16 Blue: -12/-3/120 7. Add one more selective Color (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Color) Red: -100/0/100/0 8. Add Hue Saturation (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Sat) 0/15/0 Sharpen if you didn't at beginning, take the blur tool on 20% Mode Normal and smooth over there skin. your done! My end result Other icons made from this tutorial: Happy icon making, would love to see everyone's results! Just remember to play with the coloring to get your own!
