Emsan Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 ^^ Lol I will try not too haha. It's a really good technique. Anyway, I'm on MSN now
Luc Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Emma (Emsan) requested a tutorial for . It's simpler that it looks 1. Prepare your base (crop, sharpen, ect...) 2. Duplicate your base and set it on scree, the opacity depends entirely on how dar the base is. You made need to do this twice. 3. Create a new selective colour layer and use the following settings... RED: C: -62 M: +100 Y: +100 B: +100 YELLOW: C: -100 M: 0 Y: +100 B: 0 NEUTRAL: C: +58 M: -11 Y: -28 B: -17 Done. I told you it was easy, didn't I?
Emsan Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Yey thanks Luc! I love your coloring sooo much! Just look! haha Oh and by the way, I added a hue/saturation layer to spice it up a bit.
Luc Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 That looks awesome Em ! The hue/sat layer adds so much to it. I really like them .
Zetti Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Can I ask because I am kind of stupid. Is it set to relative or absolute?
Emsan Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Katie wanted a tutorial on this coloring: So here goes Step 1 First of all take your base and crop it. Step 2 Make a new curves layer to make the icon brighter, (layer>new adjustment layer>curves). Use these settings: RGB Output: 157 Input: 89 Step 3 Now I added a selective color layer, (layer>new adjustment layer>selective color). Use these settings: Reds: -100 | 0 | +100 | 0 Neutrals: 0 | 0 | +8 | 0 Step 4 Make another selective color layer, (layer>new adjustment layer>selective color). Use these settings: Cyans: +100 | 0 | +100 | 0 Neutrals: +17 | 0 | +10 | 0 Step 5 And add another selective color layer, last one I promise! (layer>new adjustment layer>selective color). Use these settings: Cyans: +100 | 0 | 0 | 0 Neutrals: +11 | 0 | -9 | 0 Step 6 Now I want it to become a bit brighter so I added a brightness/contrast layer, (layer>new adjustment layer>brightness/contrast). Use these settings: Brightness: +38 Contrast: 0 Step 7 Now I wanted the colors to be more visible so I added a hue/saturation layer, (layer>new adjustment layer>hue/saturation). Use these settings: Saturation: +15 Then just add some text and you are done! I sharpened mine once to.
Courtz Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 I've been asked to do a tutorial for some of my Twilight icons so here we go. We will be going from this: To this: Step 1 First crop your base and if it's dark duplicate the layer and set it to screen so it's lighter, sharpen it if you need to as well. Step 2 Make a new levels layer with these settings; RGB Input: 10, 1.25, 255 Step 3 Make a new brightness/contrast layer with these settings; Brightness +6 Contrast +16 Step 4 Now we are doing a new colour balance layer. The settings are; Midtones: +44, 0, -44 Step 5 Do a new hue/saturation layer with the opacity on 10% with these settings; Saturation +20 Step 6 Do another hue/saturation layer with the opacity on 60% and set it to soft light with these settings; Saturation +20 Step 7 Now do a channel mix layer with these settings; Red: +100, -6, -6 Green: +8, +100, -6 Blue: +6, +100 Step 8 Make a new layers level with these settings; RGB Input: 23, 0.88, 247 Blue Input: 17, 0.93, 228 Step 9 Do another levels layer with these settings; RGB Input: 48, 1.57, 255 RGB Output: 0, 233 Step 10 Now do a new fill layer with the colour #bfdee7 and set it to soft light 54% Step 11 Now another fill layer with #ecddd2 setting it at colour burn 100% Step 12 Now one last fill layer with #bddae3 set to darken at 50% And there you have it. I also like to add light/smokey textures like this: And set to lighten and erase around the faces etc. But you can play around with textures yourself. Hope this is helpful.
