Zetti Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 This icon was made with Luc's tutorial Thanks I got this one from Kristina's tutorial. Its not exactly the same but I like it.
Barbara Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Barbara and Zetti wanted a tutorial for this avatars: The colouring isn’t identical, but this is pretty close I think: Colouring: 1) Take your picture/screencap, duplicate and set to screen. 2) Duplicate your base again, bring it to the top and set to soft light. 3) New selective colors layer: Reds: -100, -10, +24, -15 Yellows: -100, +10, -16, 0 Neutrals: +20, -5, -27, +7 4) New selective colors layer: Reds: -90, -6, +24, 0 Yellows: -100, +10, -24, +4 Neutrals: +32, -11, -9, -6, This psd: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KU2ANTJD includes all the layers for the frame and colors around the picture. You have to crop your picture/screencap to 73 x 128 for it to fit into the frame or you can make your own frame. Then you can add text, brushes or whatever you like! Thank you so much. I'll try it later.
Barbara Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I tried Kristina's tutorial: On the first one I used Kristina's colouring but I changed it a little by adding one more layer put to screen. I used another colouring on the second one. I have a question about Photoshop. How could I write my text diagonally? I'm still new at using that programme and I can't seem to find how to write texts diagonally. I can only write them horizontally and vertically. Example : The Kirsty av is by me. I wrote that text when I used another programme. Thank you in advance.
MissOlivia22 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I don't know if there is any proper way to do it, but just click the text tool, write what you want, click ok and then go edit>free transform. Then you can move it and turn it slightly to make it diagonal
Barbara Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 That was quick! Thank you for your help MissOlivia22!
Kris10na Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I love your results Zetti and Barbara Sorry for the late reply!
Emsan Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Zetti wanted a tutorial on this one: So here goes. It's not the same picture but it's the exact same coloring. I made it with Photoshop CS3 by the way. Step 1 Take your cap and crop it as you want it. Step 2 Duplicate your base and set it on screen. Do this twice if you have got a really dark cap. For my icon, I made it once. Step 3 Make a new adjustment layer, Hue and saturation (layer>new adjustment layer>hue/saturation). Use these settings: Master: 0 | +20 | 0 Step 4 Make a new adjustment layer, selective color (layer>new adjustment layer>selective color). Use these settings: Reds: -100 | +20 | +100 | 0 Yellows: -30 | +20 | -30 | 0 Whites: +100 | 0 | -50 | 0 Neutrals: +20 | -10 | -20 | +10 Blacks: 0 | 0 | 0 | +10 Step 5 Make a new fill layer (layer>new fill layer>solid color) and fill it with the color #2b2b2b Put this layer on Lighten with an opacity of 50%. Step 6 Make another fill layer (layer>new fill layer>solid color) and fill it with the color #1b0f00 Put this layer on Exclusion with an opacity of 100%. And you're finished.
