What's the point

Tony is like the new Henry, a nobody extra. He only exists to be Beth's partner and fold laundry with her or to tell Lucas and Jack what to do sometimes. I wonder if he'll ever get a storyline or more than 3 or 4 words to say per episode??

Yeah, I like him as a character but I agree he does need a decent storyline.

I liked him when Jack was in hospital and Tony was telling Beth all about Kate's death. I thought that bit was good. Maybe something could happen again, like maybe Jack or Lucas could be put in danger or maybe Tony can become a barman. I can see him as a barman. I was just thinking what job just Tony actually do but he's a PE teacher. He isn't at the school much. How come he was home when Matilda and Lucas were at school? Shouldn't he be, like, teaching?

lol. I like Tony. He's not my favourite but I'd probably miss him if he left.

I think Tony is great, but I agree that he could do with bigger storylines. I'd be disappointed if he left though, as he and Beth have good chemistry and he's a very likeable character. Unfortunately Tony and Lucas were shoved aside to begin with because Jack is obviously the most popular with young girls (ie. a large percent of the audience).

I don't think it helps that the storyline that brought them into it was about Jack and that almost all the storylines since have been about Jack.

They never seem to learn with male characters who are brought in to be "the partner" of a female character.

Dan was only brought in to be Leah's partner but thankfully they have now managed to establish him as a good character on his own merits. Scott on the other hand never recovered from being "the other half" of Dani and Scott. Rhys only came into his own after Shelley left. Even Lucas became pointless the moment he shared that first kiss with Matilda.

Tony is an okay character but he is just blah. There's nothing about him that makes me think "he's going to be a classic character who will remembered in 10 years time."

Poor Tony, he is easy on the eye though, but they have made him a boring background character so far. Him and Beth are meant to be dating and moving intogether but there is more chemistry between 2 planks of wood.

Be fair, he's romped to 61st overall in the MPC contest.
