c120701 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I also found it quite funny that Sally seemed to remember them meeting better that Flynn did, perhaps an in-joke as Joel did not play Flynn then.
bell Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 i found it so lovely and moving, Alf in tears, RIc ' i love you dad' flynn saying by to pippa, it was all so lovely tears were welling up in my eyes, kate and joel were amazing as were cassie and ric. though after the dance the music just stopped, personally i think if it carried on fading until he died it would have been bether
Jess Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I did find it quite funny when Alf was making those jokes about 'She loves you to death...like there's no tomorrow', but then when he was getting teary I was off. You know something bad's happening when Alf Stewart cries!
Dan F Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 i found it so lovely and moving, Alf in tears, RIc ' i love you dad' flynn saying by to pippa, it was all so lovely tears were welling up in my eyes, kate and joel were amazing as were cassie and ric. though after the dance the music just stopped, personally i think if it carried on fading until he died it would have been bether The reason the music cut out so suddenly was because that was where the Aussie broadcast had their last advert break, with the music fading out over the break bumper. I don't know why Five can't just do the same with their break bumpers rather than cutting it so badly like they did, it certainly jarred that sequence a bit. Yep the Opening Credits were cut in Australia aswell - that way it gives them more time for action during the episode.
JackWilkins Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 My very great and proud as punch pleasure-Thankyou Dan!
Jess Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Ah...that's why then. IMO, Five are just lazy! And I don't really think the cheery opening credits would've matched the sombriety (Is that a real word?) of the episode IMO.
ste Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 While I think it's stupid the way Australia "hard copy" the music onto their ad bumpers, knowing full well that it will have to be cut out in other countries, I also think that Five handle it really badly. Even I could edit it better on good old Windows Movie Maker.
Ross Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 It was such a moving episode. Did anyone agree though, that hearing the fairly upbeat closing credits music ruined the end of the episode a bit?! I wish they had played a piano version of the theme tune or something. Anyway..that's wishful thinking!
Jess Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Yeah, the closing credits DID sound jarring IMO. We lost the opening credits though, I suppose we can't really hope for much more from Five, that was a miracle in itself!

My thoughts exactly,I was very curious and a bit wary to be honest of how Five would treat it,the loss of the opening credits was a great move and so I thought was the ident they used before it began too. The only thing, and this is being picky, were the sponser adverts..still I am being picky and I guess something has to pay for it to be there eh!
