Dan F Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 With thanks to Jack, I've now added his letter to Seven to the Flynn feature.
Liz Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I didn't cry and I didn't expect to, but it was a really beautiful episode.
Madlyaddicted Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I cried for the whole half hour - haven't cried that much since watching 'Titanic'!!!!! Congratulations to the writers, actors etc... it was beautiful, moving, powerful, true-to-life etc....
c120701 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I've watched it before, but I couldn't help watching it again. Poor Sally, this is the sixth important person in her life (that we know of) that has died. Not counting Bobby, Ailsa, Dale etc... I couldn't help laughing at Alf's "She loves you like there's no tomorrow" as obviously for Flynn there was no tomorrow, but you need humour in an episode to make the saddest parts feel sadder. Did five cut the opening titles or was it the same in the Australian airing? Either way I think it was a good idea, as seeing that saccharin title sequence would've really taken away from the episode, and the overly cheery version of the theme.
Morag_rules Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Although I didn't cry, the episode was so simple being based solely around Flynn and his family and it worked so well. For me, I felt the episode was so touching because of all the different reactions to Flynn's dying moments; Cassie being so heartbroken and crying uncontrollably was made more emotional alongside Ric, so desperate to hide his feelings, Alf, so strong, yet even he let his guard down at the end, (even little Pippa looked distraught) and of course Sally, who has lost so many loved ones in her life, losing her soulmate. This episode shows you just how far Home and Away have come over the years to create such believable characters and beautiful storylines. Flynn will be dearly missed.
silvernlilac Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Wow what a moving episode. I was in tears as well, especially when Ric said 'I love you dad'. I found that very emotional. Ill really miss flynn. He was such an amazing charactor. Im sure this has been asked before, but was it Joel McIlroy's choice to leave or was he axed from the show. Thanks
staci Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 That was a truely beautiful episode I was working so I had to phone home to get my mum to record it for me. When I watched it I cried and I havent cried that much since Charmed ended.
Nonamoose Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 A very sad, moving episode which was beautifully acted by all in it. I will miss Flynn too.
carrie_ann Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Its such a lovely episode to watch i tears rolled down my face as i watched it
Colette Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I don't like Flynn, haven't done since they changed the actor, but have to admit it was sad tonight, I thought Sally would have looked more upset, and oh gee the funeral is tomorrow, bloomen ell how quick is that
