emmasi Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Aw. I don't think it's that no one wants to enter... In my case, I kept thinking "It's only 100 words. I can write that any time. I don't have to do it right now." So I kept putting it off and forgetting about it, and then I remembered it the other day, but by then I was already in the middle of writing something else. Because you didn't ask for us to write a story, I don't think we now quite how to discuss what we want to do. It feels a bit weird to say something like "I've described the twig, but I'm having trouble with the texture of the leaf. Any ideas??" And I think the lack of discussion and activity in this thread has caused people to forget about it. And another thing, the sheer number of options for this challenge is so daunting. Describe ANYTHING! I couldn't think . But then I was looking back over an old fic that I never finised or posted and found a description of something in there that I liked so... that's what I'll be entering if this goes ahead. I'll PM it to you anyway. Maybe extend it by a couple of days or something?
sevenpuddings Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Yeah - I was contemplating that. I'm moving in about two weeks time, so I don't know if I'll have the net up and running as soon as I get down there. But if I extended the challenge till maybe Sunday night Aus time, and see if anyone else wanted to enter. I get what you mean though, you only had to write a small amount of words, and it was completely vague - just describe anything. I did actually think that would make it easier for people to enter, but apparently not. However, if I keep bumping this thread until Sunday night, then maybe someone will enter. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though, and for entering
emmasi Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 lol, that's so weird. For some reason I always thought you were English, so I was just thinking "Australian time? Why would she put it in Australian time??" Then I looked at where you're from. You live about 2 hours away from me Howdy neighbour! But then, I think there is a Newcastle in England... hm.
sevenpuddings Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Well, there is a Newcastle in England, although I've never been there. I imagine its probably cold, and I'm well adjusted to the Aussie heat. So yeah, Newcastle in Aus is my hometown.
~Rosey~ Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 ^ Cool. I live in Sydney but visit Newcastle heaps
emmasi Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 ^You're two hours away from me as well! I'm a coasty
-Jade- Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I'm so sorry Jess! I've been wanting to enter this competition so much but I'm just finiding it really hard to find something to describe. If the extention is until Sunday this week then I really will enter. I think it's just a case of sitting myself down and telling myself to write. I was just finding it difficult. But yea, I'll send you my entry very soon. I personally love this one- it's so challenging, which is probably why everyone's shying away from it slightly. I think if I could just do this it would really help me.
~Rosey~ Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 ^You're two hours away from me as well! I'm a coasty Thats soo cool! My dog was born on the central coast (if thats what your talking about )
SfanS Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Back to school and all made me forget about this a bit...I probably won't have time for this particular one, since I'm not fabulour at description and I have a writing task from school I haven't finished.... I'll definetely review though! Sorry.
