Skykat Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Oops, don't not do it on my account, I'm sure nobody will mind!
furrylogic Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Hey everyone - Just thought I should make a quick post to tell you that yes, the christmas celebration of FanFics are still on... Ive been uber busy at work - havent had a day off in 2 weeks So the thread should be up Christmas Eve night Aus time - that'll probably be the only real chance I get. I'll post my story that will hopefully be finished by then and then anyone can who has written one will just post their own story into the thread via a reply (atleast I hope it'll work that way). That way its a celebration of christmas and you're own writing. And a good way to finish the year! Anyway just thought I better tell you I am still alive just really busy!
furrylogic Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Thread is up for the christmas stories. Feel free to post whenever you want to.
emmasi Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 I'm still working on mine. It's not terribly christmassy at the moment
furrylogic Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Thats ok - Just post it when its ready. Mine wasnt very christmassy either. It was just what I could manage this time of year.
Skykat Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 I just changed the thread topic slightly just to clear up any confusion. Hope that's okay. Do you want the thread pinned until after xmas, Anna?
emmasi Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Okay well I've completely changed my mind now. I want to do a whole other fic. Ah I am such a fickle creature. We've got til New Years to post these, right ? I really need to plan these things better.
emmasi Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Just mentioning that I am still posting one. It'll just be a little late... I've been sick and Christmas is hectic I should have it up by tomorrow night.
SfanS Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Question: Then who gets to host the next one?
sevenpuddings Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Fan Fiction Challenge #6: The Power of Words - The key to this challenge was always going to be length. We can all babble on for pages, filling out decent storylines with sometimes mediocre descriptions (I am in no way targeting anyone), but can we truly write a descriptive piece, that could be slotted into a story in any place, at any time? That is, essentially what I'm challenge the authors of this board to do. - Challenge: Write one or two descriptive pieces between 100-500 words. Note the use of the word piece, not story. It doesn't have to have a beginning, middle or end, nor does it have to make complete sense. I'd rather everyone develop their use of description of a place, a person, a feeling, a touch, a smell, anything. Setting: Summer Bay (because I need to keep it Home and Away related) Prompt: Describe me something... anything. Length: 100 - 500 words for each piece. There will be a small allowance either side of the word limit, but I'm trying to keep it down. Rating: I'm open to most things, but nothing too extreme, please. Due Date for entries: January 31st. I'm giving you a month, because I think that this could be much harder than previous challenges because of the word limit. But if people think its either not enough time, or too much, I'm sure we can come to an agreement. Finally, there will be no 'winners' or voting for this challenge. The month long timeframe for entries also allows for further discussion to take place on the actual system that we'll follow. I'm not even sure where it stands at right now... Hopefully we can come to a compramise eventually. Any thoughts are more than welcome, however I also think we may have debated the idea out too much before hand. Any problems, feel free to ask away. I'm also here for proof reading, if anyone would like their stories proof read Happy writing everyone!
