Ah damn!

I wrote one, and tried my hardest to get to 1500. And...1263...or something like that. Does that mean I don't qualify? I suppose so...hmph. Oh well, next time!

I've found this to be one of the most inpirational and rewarding ways of writing, and it's so useful to get those reviews, ones that you don' t usually get in such detail.

I believe that :) This is my first challenge, I'm so excited :)

But is the winner decided by poll, reviews or both?

Noooo!!!!! Don't go asking that! We've debated it for so long! :P

We decided that as this was Jade's competition to host and she wanted winners that there would be a winner and I think I'm right in thinking that the winner will be decided by reviews. If you see the previous competitions I've posted in the library most people review all stories and then nominate their favourite. I think we agreed that the winner would be decided from those votes but ONLY if all of the entries are given full and equal reviews. I don't think anyone particulary wanted votes to be cast without a reason being given for them. Plus the reviews are actually of far more benefit to the authors than the actual voting is. We had a framework we used last time for reviews which was quite helpful, I'd assume we're doing the same thing again. I'll just go look up if the framework's still lurking somewhere. Hopefully Jade will confirm that I'm right!

Found it!

This is the framework Jess wrote that we used for reviews last time. I'd personally want to use the same framework again. Even if its not followed to the letter its still pretty useful in suggesting things to think about and comment on when writing your reviews.

Of course the decision rests with Jade as it's her competition so I'll leave the framework in her capable hands!

Review Guidelines

Please remember that while reviewing, there is more than simply the character/pairing to be taken into consideration. Here are some questions you might consider when reviewing each story.

1. Was the character believable? Were you able to picture it in your mind and hear the character saying things? Do you feel that the author managed to tap into the character to make it their own? Was the interaction between the characters (if applicable to the story) believable?

2. Were there any lines or moments that stood out to you? Why did they stand out?

3. Did the author use descriptive language and/or emotive language to draw you into the story?

4. Overall, was the story appealing to you? Why/Why not?

5. What do you feel could be improved by the author? Do you have any suggestions for them?

Sorry :P I actually read that dicussion, but I couldn't find it when I was looking for it again, because I didn't catch the final decision

I'm not a hundred percent sure we came to one! I'm pretty sure we agreed though that Jade could run this competition as she wanted and I think I'm safe in saying that that's how she'd want the voting to be decided.

...this is when Jade pops her head in and tells me I'm wrong... :P

lol! No, you're not wrong. The fanfiction challenge will be changed for the new year so there probably won't be voting from 2007 onwards, however, for this challenge there will be voting for what I think will be the last time. Everyone who wants their vote to count will have to review all the stories and their comments. No reviews = no vote. :)

Right, I'm going to go and post the entries now. :)
