I don't watch channel five all that much, is it only H&A they cut to crap?. Wooooohooo yeah channel five gave a warning at the beginining.

Any kind of strobe lighting, in whatever shape or form it comes in is a killer, for my crap a lepsy epilepsy. Thunderstorms do affect me. I carry a pair of strong sunglasses with me just incase.

This may sound like a stupid question, but in Australia our TV networks don't even present warnings about flashing lights or anything like that which may trigger an epileptic fits, seizure, etc. let alone actually cut things out.

Why is it common practice to remove those scenes in the UK but not so here? Are there many more epilepsy sufferers in the UK, or is it simply a case of your TV networks going to extremes to cover themselves against any possible litigation?

Because Australia and the UK are different countries. Last I heard we had different laws. :P

Di in answer to your question no it's not just Home and Away that gets cut. Any programme on any channel will get cut if there is something that doesn't meet regulations, this could be violent or strong language before the watershed, or strobe lights.

It really has nothing to do with Five or Home and Away in particular.

It is a little interesting as H&A is not cut on Norwegian television (we had all the Jade/Duncan drug-scenes etc), but at the same time, advertisment directed at kids and advertisment for alcohol and tobacco is illegal.

ETA: Oh, and yes, H&A is aired at 3:40-4pm here.

Yes I can take extra meds if need be, as I have two types of epilepsy, which I have had for 14years. I mostly reconise when its going to come on and take meds.

I'm concerned about Sally getting electrocuted this evening. In fact, quite a lot of the events in tonights episode occure outside during the thunderstorm. I think, if anything, tonight will be the night when some important scenes could be cut.

I never notice when they cut things from the show until someone else tells me they have. It's not really a big deal to me, so long as they don't cut anything important, or integral to the story, which I doubt they would.
