Five edit Season Return as expected

RTÉ over here edit the early showing of 1:30, but give us the un-edited version at 6:30. So we don't have a problem over here.

Episodes are app. 21 minutes.

So that's enough time for Five to show all of the show instead of editing stupid scenes which has nothing wrong with them.

Plan of roughly how it should be:

6:00 - First part of Home and Away starts (lasts 13 minutes)

6:13 - Break for 4 minutes

6:17 - Second part of Home and Away starts (lasts, say about 9 minutes)

6:26 - Home and Away Finishes

Then that leaves 4 minutes for adverts etc until next show starts at 6:30.

So I really don't get what Five's problem is ....

I can't believe they edited them bits out, what is the point? if we exclude all of the flashing scenes that were cut.

Viewers were probably like how did she get there? when they suddenly saw rachel with kim some scenes like this one i think were probably needed to explain it a bit more.

Anyway, i suppose it is up to five.

No the full uncut episode was still 21 mins 25 secs - Australia have to consider this too with their time schedules.

I can't see why they'd edit these bits out? If it was for timing reasons, then we didn't really need the recap at the beginning did we? It was only on friday that we watched it, so we didn't need the reminders. They'd already said a warning, and they had left in some flashing scenes, so whats the harm in adding some more? And some of them, by the sounds of it, weren't even flashing! Channel five, you are officially Fools!! *slaps round head*

It ususally comes on at 6. Has an ad at 6.11ish (finished at 6.09 tonight thats where i noticed it being fishy) Has a break till about 6.13-14 and finishes on 6.26.

Most of the internal scenes had flashing coming through the window but they were in the background.

Five are utterly ridiculous and need to be stopped, petition time i say, bombard them with e-mails, phone calls, visits, whatever it takes. They just simply spoil the show and maybe the seven network could do something to stop them.

I don't think it ruins the show. It is pointless, but to be fair, if it hadn't have been pointed out, most people wouldn't have noticed it.

Why do they even cut scene's ?

The Broadcasting Standards set rules and Five have to comply with them.

Rules have probably been tightened over the years with regards to epilepsy inducing scenes and Five have had to cut scenes them.

Rules have probably changed on the language that can be used, and if that what word was to be mentioned on Home and Away Five would get fined, and whilst it might be annoying to occasionally miss a few seconds of action, I'm sure you would be less pleased if Five had to stop airing the show due to them going bankrupt due to Robbie saying ******.
