Also, going back to the compensation culture we were talking about earlier, I was getting off the train today and a automated voice said "Please mind the gap when you step off the train". Is that really necessary? Doesn't everyone know there's a gap between the train and the platform? And could anyone really fit down that gap? ETA - I've noticed that when E4 show Friends they cut certain bits out, but it's really obvious when they do, which is what annoys me about it. Ive noticed that too. It's more annoying in comedies because the laughter jumps, or the audience are laughing when there was no joke. But like I said, it doesn't just happen on Five or with H&A, it happens with all shows. The thing with the "mind the gap" isn't because they are worried people will fall down the gap. It's because they are worried that if it *does* happen, they will get sued because they didn't have a warning. If it wasn't for the wonderful invention of compensation, they wouldn't care if people fell down the gap!

And I saw a dog almost fall down the gap once but luckily it was on a leash. But still, I think the warning is a sign of the times.
