BUT surely even in Australia they have to take into account for epileptics etc. So why is it ok for them but not for us? See this is what confuses me. In the UK the scenes are cut, but in Australia there are not even warnings of any sort for flashing lights, strobing etc.

So that's probably a factor. You can't walk down the street these days without causing some kind of PC violation.

The songs my children learn in school, i have never heard of. All the parents had a list of the nursery rhymes that they won't allow in the school.

I know havent they banned 'Ba Ba Blacksheep' bacause its Racist. And Golly Wogs were also Banned.
MarMar Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I had the melody of "Golliwogs cakewalk" to a tap dance when I was a kid, and my British dance teacher was a little worried that the parents wouldn't approve.. But, we're not all thet PC here.. Although, it's "catching on".

Also, going back to the compensation culture we were talking about earlier, I was getting off the train today and a automated voice said "Please mind the gap when you step off the train". Is that really necessary? Doesn't everyone know there's a gap between the train and the platform? And could anyone really fit down that gap? ETA - I've noticed that when E4 show Friends they cut certain bits out, but it's really obvious when they do, which is what annoys me about it.
