I dunno...i've just seen programmes with warnings at the start for epilepsy- as with strong language and scenes of a sexual nature!

I find this whole episode editing a little interesting. H&A is showed here at 3:40pm - 4pm, with no cuts, and no warnings whatsoever! I think it's a little funny how things which are PG in Australia (and something similar in the UK) is ok to show in the middle of the afternoon here... :P

I know but if you miss the warning at the start and you're epilectic it could be harmful. Hence why they cut it. But does anyone really miss a wee bit of flashing lights anyway? I know I can do without it, it makes me feel funny and I've not got epilepsy. I don't think.

It's because you Norwegians are made of sterner stuff :P

It has to be something like that! (We're the vikings, yeah! *sings*) :P

I do see your point, though, Katya.. Only thing is: We are watching the whole Jade/Duncan over the cliff-storyline now, and The Boyfriend's mother is epileptic, and she was watched those scenes which were cut in the UK without any problems whatsoever. I guess it must have something to do with that her epilepsy is quite stable. She even has a driver's licence, and had to be seizure free for 5 years before she was allowed to get it.. She's been seizure free for 10 now.

Maybe the severity of the condition is different for different people, or maybe Five are just covering their ass in case someone decides to sue them. Which is very likely in this day and age.

Unfortunately you're right in both cases. What triggers a seizure is different in everyone, and may vary, but also, Five doesn't want to get into trouble with a sue. We're all turning into the US. So many foods and other products are starting to be branded with warnings here. Same with shops. "Beware of the step". It didn't use to be like this.

It's madness. You read about crazy lawsuits all the time (none of which I can remember right now to illustrate this point :-|). In my work if someone spills something then a member of staff has to stand beside the spillage to make sure no one slips on it. Like you can't see a big pile of broken eggs on the floor!

ETA - of course if the person is blind it's a different story.

Tell me about it... I've seen that in McDonald's here as well. It's madness.

I know this might sound cruel, but it's in those situations you want Darwinism practiced: Take the warning labels off everything and let nature take it's course. :D:P (not offending anyone here, just joking).

I know this has been pointed out before, and I know there are different laws etc blah blah blah. BUT surely even in Australia they have to take into account for epileptics etc. So why is it ok for them but not for us?

Did you know McDonalds get sued every day. Most of the time they win though.

Its not for time slot issues in the UK either. 98% of all episodes here go uncut. Lets hope we can bump up that percentage by a percent.
