Lee's lil lass Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Im in the Uk and as much as i want surprises and everything i just cant help but download the episodes put on the internet,i want to be surprised with things but as they are there available to me i will watch them...and read the spoiler forum. Now when i see those episodes again on tv i know what is going to happen and it kind of spoils it for me watching it 'first' time on tv knowing what is going to happen. If we did catch up and it shows like it does in australia at least then even though it would have breaks i can have surprises in what is coming up. I know i could just avoid downloading the episodes and the spoiler forum, but i have lost all will when it comes to H&A Haha! Yeah, I'm the same, I've been downloading some episodes as well!! Ive seen like the whole Believers storyline and all the episodes that are showing on Ch5 this week! And last three weeks Aussie episodes!! I just can't help it either, especially when I know that they are available! But I get really confused at times, cause I've seen whats happened in Oz and as we're behind, its hard to keep up two different storyline places!!! Thus, I have no 'surprise' either, but after my exams I'll probs stop watching them, until uni starts again, cause then I won't be able to watch all of them, so I'll end up downloading them!! And be like months ahead!!
Reo Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 I started downloading on the cyclone episode and onwards, but i did see some before that aswell, but most of the ones they are showing on CH 5 i have seen, watching them on tv is a repeat now beacuse i saw them on the internet, but it still seems like i 'should' watch them on tv beacuse thats where we are in the show.
Jess Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 I've started reading old episode summaries 'cos I've got GCSE's coming up and so therefore won't be able to watch every single night until after the exams have finished. But I don't go too far ahead with the summaries, just so that I can stay at the same pace as where we are in the UK right now (if that makes any sense at all). My resolve not to read spoilers has been strengthened slightly since BttB put a password on the spoiler section - it means that I have to make slightly more effort to be spoiled. But it hasn't strengthened my resolve much LOL. xXx

Yeah I downloaded them from the season finale in Oz onwards until the Believers storyline finished. Your right cause this week I've seen them, so I might watch them, but i might not be able to, cause my exams started last Thursday and my next one is on Monday!!! What I have tried to do is leave 'gaps' so that I haven't seen all of the episodes, but a few episodes here and there from each month, so I kinda get whats going on, so that at least I'll watch it on TV to see the ones that i didn't download. I kinda wish I didn't see them, as I've seen most of the episodes that we'll get this summer, but its too tempting as I know the videos are available, and reading the spoilers on here, just makes me want to see them even more!!!
Reo Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 I want to download the episodes beacuse i want to know what is going on(and what will happen in the UK)but i also want to watch the UK ones and wonder what will happen next...i think i will move to australia, watch them on tv and only have about a weeks worth of spoilers...and still be surprised what i see on tv
James Martin Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 I've seen everything from Monday's episode on Five, right up to the current Aussie eps! So everything this Summer, I will have seen! I will still watch on TV but if I miss an ep I have the PC to help me out.
Marilyn Chambers Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 When C5 first started the gap was longer than 13 months, true there was a 13 month gap between transmissions but the actual first ep shown on c5, #2841(?) was aired in May 2000 and not shown until July 2001 due to ITV cutting back transmissions in its final few weeks. The investment in the show from Channel 5 will probably result in an increase in the number of episodes produced each year, similar to the increase in episodes of Neighbours due to BBC and other networks investing in production. Neighbours last year had a very short period off Air in Australia. Home And Away will probably reduce its off air period when the gap narrows to such an extent that it causes problems for the C5 schedulers! Either that or we may see a return of the behind the scenes show, or even a pick of classic episodes from when C5 picked up the rights.
Cat3 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 I think that channel five will stop showing home and away in december when they do catch up.
Lee's lil lass Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 I think that channel five will stop showing home and away in december when they do catch up. I don't think that we'll catch up that quickly...either Oz will take a shorter break or Ch5 will take a break, but maybe not the same time as in Australia...like someother time. But still its going to be a while before we catch up, and who knows what could have changed by then?
