She and Henry were the bitchiest, brattiest little beasts I've ever seen on H&A! (Well, Duncan was pretty bad too!) I agree with everything you've said though, Ric's storyline, as well as Luc and Mattie's relationship troubles have both come out of the blue really. The bullying storyline is just boring already, tedious and irritating if anything. Mattie and Luc... well, we never saw much of them anyway so it's hard to feel any emotion about them either way really, their relationship has always been pushed aside for bigger storylines, it's rare to see them together without Cassie, which just seems a bit odd, a lot of missed opportunity to show something of these two, especially since they live in the same house!
allibaz91 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I have to agree about Mattie & LUc, they've been floating around in the abckground for ages and now they're supposed to be involved in this big fight storyline. How about some build up, guys? And they never even act like a couple - they act more like brother and sister IMO. So annoying! The way Kim was with Rachel and her mother was very sweet though . . . God I cant believe her own father treated her like that! Kim should have hit him when he had the chance!
I love music Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Todays episode was ok,ric pulling the prank back onto dom was good..although we all know that dom is going to do worse now.. I found the problem between matilda and lucas came out of no-where.. When matilda first came and was really bratty didnt like her that much and i though today she was being bratty again and wanted things her own way,i could see where lucas was coming from..being friends with belle beacuse he is friends with ric and doesnt want to cause problems.. I think they should of focused alittle more on sally going back to work..its a big thing after losing someone..its like a mark in life where you have started to move on.. That's an excellent point. A total waste of what should have been a strong storyline! I never watched H&A during the time when Flynn died, but if I hadn't learnt, from reading these boards, that he had died, I would have just assumed Sally had been on a holiday and everything was fine.

Its like they sent her off to italy so they wont have to show any grieving.. Apart from alf asking her if she was ready to go back to work it was just treated like another day for her..

Tulip Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Yeah, the Flynn storyline had so much more to offer than what was actually dealt with. Leah's grief and her position as she was once so close to him, his other friends' grief. The possibilities could have given some great storylines and it could have been a really good storyline and exploring some of the characters in more depth. The Lucas/Matilad/Ric/Cassie/Belle - I really thought this would be a much bigger storyline and that Belle and Ric's relationship would really divide the group. Again, this storyline had much potential and I think it's a shame it hasn't been explored. See what today's episode holds - maybe it'll get better. The younger characters have a lot to them and the storylines could be good opportunities to explore the characters and how they deal with different situations. Since Ric was Cassie's first boyfriend since her uncle's abuse, I would have thought that their splitting up would cause more pain for Cassie as they were really close. Lucas and Matilda could have been gradually divided by their friends and their relationship problems could have built up over time. Even with this week's episodes, Rachel could have been focussed more on what was happening with Dan and Leah, the Robert storyline could have been moved a day later and the teenage group storyline could have had more build-up during the earlier part of the week. But I did think the Dan/Leah storyline was handled well and the Lucas/Matilda split was a good idea, just could have been dealt with better I think. The one thing I have enjoyed though is seeing Peter developed as a character. Seeing a new side to him and his reaction to Dan's accident, I think seeing the situation from Peter's point of view and seeing his feelings towards his brother and Leah was a really good angle to the storyline. The acting has been fantastic all this week as well, from all the actors involved.
allibaz91 Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Oh yeah definitely, the acting's usually pretty good but it has been improving a lot lately - i did pick up on this a few weeks ago as well . . . Maybe they have a new acting coach in or soemthing? Anyway, everyone's made good points - i never thoguht about it, but they really should have made a bigger deal about sally going back to work. It was just a little annoyinhg, considering how long she's been around, that we only got to see her grieve a little bit, and now she's over losing her husband and back to work so quickly . . . it was all too rushed.
Reo Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 When flynn was sick and we knew it would be 3 months,those 3 months were filled with great acting from joel,kate,sharni and mark..then the funeral..and that seemed to be it.. They showed Ric and Cassie grieve and sally trying to cope and alf trying to be there for them..outside of the family it showed no grieving from flynns friends..and after she got back from italy it was like that was that. I really think they should of focused more on her going back to school again..they did with ric and cassie where ric couldnt handle people staring and suddenly stop talking when he walks by.. I didnt really like peter when he was so angry over the josh murder case and shouting at morag,just not a side to peter i like..but i did like him with dan,thats peter dan's brother not peter the cop. I hope that when dan comes out of hospital that they do get closer as brothers. With the Ric/belle situation with Cassie/matilda/lucas..lucas is trying to be friends with ric so isnt going to cause any problems and is trying to do the best in the situation..cassie is obviously hurt but matilda is the one acting right out against belle..and against lucas..dont really like that side to her..
Tulip Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Both Indiana and Rhys's acting today was brilliant. I loved the scene where Matilda just collapsed outside - I really felt for her. I think maybe come of the people Flynn have helped could have been grieving and also people like Colleen and Dan, maybe some of the angles like when he got the twig stuck in him some guilt from Dan maybe and also more of baby Pippa, more about how she would never know her dad. Also maybe Scott and Hayley could have said goodbye to Flynn before they left and maybe that could have brought it home to him as well as his collapse.
Reo Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 I felt really sorry for matilda,didnt like her in yesterdays episode but you could see how hurt she was in todays.. Still hating dom and dont think that will ever change..it makes me wonder what goes through his head,even though its only a soap...but battery acid..how can someone even think of doing that to another person. I hope in the next few months of home and away there will be little scenes that makes sally think of flynn and what she and pippa have lost.
