I mean, they live together, but still . . . and even then, was it just me or was it Kim's mobile he answered? I'm not even sure it was the contact for the Bachelor Pad - I think it was actually just Kim! And there's another random rant to go on - why have Dan and Kim suddenly become friends? Dan jsut started telling him all about his Amanda worries, and Kim came over when Dan was staying at the Diner flat to see if he fancied having a beer . . . why? Kim's about nineteen, and Dan's about twenty-seven (or close enough). They barely ebven spoke until now, and now they're like best friends or something! Random and a little disturbing, I have to say it lol.
zozalina Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Yeah, the Dan/Kim friendship kind of came out of nowhere. One minute they hardly even speak to each other; the next minute they're living together, discussing their relationships and having beers!

And fair enough, they might kind of talk through Leah and Rachel, but not when the girls arent even around! Plus Dan and Leah aren't even together any more, and the Dan/Kim friendship didn;t start till after they'd split up, so that excuse doesn't even really work. Weird? I think so!

Kim is friends with Robbie, he lives with Jack but barely knows him and there aren't any other guys who are his age apart from Ric who is a little bit younger than him and Macca, who has just turned up, so they don't really know eachother either. Dan was friends with Flynn, but the only other blokes in the bay are Peter, Alf, Tony and Barry, so again, not many people to actually be friends with. It does seem a bit random that all of a sudden Dan is sharing his relationship problems with Kim, but there really aren't many other people for him to talk to.

I think Dan and Jack could be good friends but Dan and Kim are just wierd. I think maybe when Dan and Leah were married Dan didn't spend a lot of time with friends but now he is on his own he is aware of how few friends he's got and maybe he's just trying people out to see if he kind of clicks with them. Though I do think Dan and Kim could have a good friendship through Rachel and Leah. They would kind of have to be otherwise it would make things hard.

allibaz91 Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Well, when Tony & Beth decided to move in together, Jack decded to keep on his dad's old house so he could have some independence. He couldn't afford the rent by himself, and Kim wanted to move out of Irene's so he could have some more privacy and somewhere to go with Rachel, so he asked Jack if he could move in to help him with the rent. And then once things went wrong with Dan and Amanda he couldn't stay with her any more, and had nowhere else to go, and since he and Kim have decded they're friends now (as we've already discussed quite a bit in this thread lol) then Dan asked Kim if he could move in too. I think that's roughly how it happened anyway . . . And I agree, maybe if Dan had realised that nobody really talks to him except Leah's friends then he would've given Peter another chance lol! But really, what did he expect? The only reason Sally etc even know Dan is through Leah, so if she's really angry with him and not talking to him, they can't exactly just start hanging about with him all the time and make her feel like they're picking sides. They have to stay as Leah's frineds, or stay out of it, but they can't really take Dan's side or it'll cause problems for them with Leah who they've known longer. I also agree about Dan & Jack being friends, but it would be slightly weird considering Peter is jack's boss and right now Dan isn't talking to his brohter, so it would be a little strange. Last thought - we're obviously going to find out the answer to this tomorrow, but just quickly before it's spoiled for us, what do people think this accident could be that Dan's in? I mean, the obvious one is a car crash, but they already did a car crash about six months or so ago with Chloe & Jesse, so maybe they'll go in a different direction now? Any thouhts anyone?

I think a Dan accident would put everything into perspective though. Just about everybody in Summer Bay's been in hospital at some point, so it'd have to be a pretty wacky idea to come up with something new. Good post Allibaz91, I enjoyed reading that.
I love music Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I actually watched H&A (the lunchtime episode) for the first time in ages today and I was v.impressed. Last time I saw it, some weeks ago, it was dreadful, just all about who was going out with who, and I changed channels after 10 minutes. Today, even tho I didn't know many of the characters (who was the girl talking to Ric in the Diner? ) it held my attention with its much stronger storylines. A huge improvement!

Loving the Rachel/Kim stuff...glad to find out what Rachel's father was like and what the big secret was. It was original as well, not just "oh we fell out". And the scene with Peter talking to Dan in a coma was so touching...a perfect development for the brothers' relationship.
