Anastasia Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I loved today's episode! Much better pace and more interesting. Actually liked the Belle/Ric stuff - poor Irene! I think Leah is way out of line having a go at Dan - she kicked him out of an apartment that wasn't even hers! I think Amanda is much better for Dan if Leah is going to be so whingey. I liked Jack's drunkness and the family-ness of the Holdens. Looking forward to the Bachlor pad. Isn't it a bit wierd though that Martha invited Macca to stay in Sally's house? How can you say Leah is Whiney? She shouldnt havve kicked him out of the apartment, i didn't agree with that but Dan get what he deserved. Ananda has been nothing but a total bxtch to Leah since she arrived in the bay & now so soon after they split & leah lost his child shes trying to get him back. If I was leah I would be just as angry & upset with both of them. Dan was totally stupid (& not that nice) in this story, how could he even consider getting back with Amanda after what she did to him (& the rest of the bay) in the past! I hated this story in AUS
Ross Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Neither Leah or Dan help themselves in these situations. Leah gets so angry and caught up in the moment that she says things she later regrets. Dan is letting Amanda suck him in so easily and doesn't realise that Leah can see this and is only trying to protect him. The pair of them are just so stubborn - it's so frustrating to watch! The other day when Leah went up to the flat to tell Dan how she felt, then Amanda toddled out from the kitchen- I was so annoyed!

Great post, I agree with everything you said, thats a great way to describe the characters & their reactions rather than just saying Leah is complaining again....
Tulip Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Yeah, I guess she is angry and she's annoyed at Amanda constantly being there. I think she's confused over her unresolved feelings and doesn't know whether she should tell him because her anger is getting the better of her. I think deep down they both still love each other but Amanda is manipulating them both and making them angry so they do things in the heat of the moment (throw each other out of flats, sleep with ex-partner, etc.). What I thought was unfair was the fact that Leah was ordering Dan out of a flat that wasn't even hers. And how she's putting Rachel in the middle of it. I think she's usually quite level-headed but I just thought yesterday she was complaining too much about stuff she didn't really have a right to. She jumps into shouting at people too much and then regrets it. I do like how the writers are going in to this, and not just brushing past a lot of the emotional stuff (Flynn's death, where we saw very little of Cassie or Ric's grief apart from when he died and them going back to school). What I'd like now is for Leah to get together with Peter, and then for Amanda and Peter to have another affair, then Dan and leah will both be hurt, can wallow in their sorrow together and be re-united!! But seriously, Amanda will so just get bored with Dan and move on again. I think she's loved Dan more than anyone but it's just Amanda - she gets bored easily I think and eventuall she will just go off with someone else. But Dan will always be the love of her life because she's so attached to him, both in love and because of Ryan.
allibaz91 Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I totally agree - Dan & Leah deserve to be miserable together if they're too stubborn to do anything even mildly sensible that would make them happy! Lol the idea of Peter & Leah has never seemed like a good one to me - they're supposed to be this big couple, but I never really thought they had the right chemistry. Now if they would just get Peter together with Amanda without him being with Leah first, that'd just annoy Dan even more, which I wouldn't mind too much! Today's episode was pretty decent IMO, but Dan is annoying me more than usual. Fair enough Amanda has manipulated him as usual, but it's his own fault for falling for it yet again, and I believe that deep down she really does care for him. Nobody - even Amanda - deserves to have their heart broken that brutelly that many times by the same person.

But Amanda had an affair with Peter! Granted, it was because of Dan's gambling, but I think that what she did to him was worse than what he did to her. He slept with her once, whilst on the rebound from Leah, he never said they were getting back together, she just assumed it.
zozalina Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 ^ Yeah, she read way too much into it. She was blinded by her desire to get back together and didn't see that Dan was just on the rebound. I feel sorry for her about that, but she's not exactly whiter than white, and what goes around comes around/comes around goes around (lol, not sure if "goes" or "comes" goes first...OK, I'm confused).

I think that's why she and Josh worked - they were so similar. I agree nobody deserves not to be happy but think about it - Amanda cheated on Dan with Peter, she almost sabotaged his wedding, she manipulated Scott, she manipulated Graham, she cheated on Graham with Josh, she slept with Dan when he was vulnerable and clearly on the re-bound... Granted, she was under pressure from Josh a lot of the time, but that's no excuse.

Watching now, i'm not too sure if I like Macca or not. He has potential but he seems very flat at the moment to me!
katya Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I'm really not seeing Macca as the lothario Martha claims him to be. Although I do think he and Cassie have some chemistry together. I know how the storyline develops but it'll interesting to see how it unfolds.
