Throughout the whole thing he has been doing whatever Johnny says,In fear of his life..I understand that,But he isnt fighting to get out of the gang,He is just going along with everything. And now that he is taking action by talking to Ash,It still doesnt feel like he is against the gang,And all that he was saying,That he built up a life here and Ash saying what would Sally want you to do. I just havent seen him build up any life or had much of a relationship with Sally to make the words of Ash change his mind like that. I think they should of shown more of Rocco getting his life together before Johnny and the gang came and then more of Rocco not wanting to have anything to do with the gang,Instead he straight away gave into Johnny the moment he saw him and asked him to sell drugs..I also think they should of Shown him having a life and hanging out with Ric and co. and developing a foster relationship with Sally. I just dont believe that he has build up this life away from the gang and dont feel sorry for him. I think the season finale is on the 30th.

He only stays with them so he doesnt get himself killed. The whole Drew thing was quite good. But Amanda and Peter i fear will get boring (its already started )
Reo Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Thats the thing though,I have never seen him want his freedom..He just does what Johnny wants him to and then his school stuff,Other than that you dont see anything about him..There were only a few small scenes were Rocco said that he wanted out of the gang and then Johnny would do something to make him shut up and deal with it,You know he wants out but i just dont see him as a poor little victim.

Also he cant make it obvious to Sally and everyone cause theyl get sus. And then Johnny will beat him up and everyone else! lol Its a no win situation!

He's in such a tough situation, it is so clear that he wants a new life really badly but Johnny isn't going to let him have that and it's not like Rocco can just walk away, as Johnny has made it clear on several occassions that "there is only one way to get out." Don't you think if getting beaten up by Johnny was all he would have to go through Rocco would take his chances??? He wants his freedom and doesn't exactly know how to go about getting it. Talking to Sally, Brad etc isn't going to help him because as far as they're concerned he isn't in contact with Johnny anymore. The one (and probably only) person that realises how badly the kid wants his freedom is the one person that is stopping him from having it, Johnny!!! Despite all this and wanting to get away from Johnny and wanting a new life I don't think Rocco hates Johhny, after all from what we know (or what I'm assuming) he's the only family he has and at the end of the day they are brothers. Deep down Rocco is probably hoping (or hoped up until yesterday's episode) that somehow he can make Johnny stop or at the very least that he will let him go, but at the same time realises that it will probably never happen, which would be why he thought that his plan to send Johnny to prison would be his way of breaking free. It must be tough $**T having a brother like that and even worse knowing that he will stop at nothing to get his way and that you are on your own and that there is nothing that you can do without someone getting hurt, really badly!!! Any person would find it a total nightmare, let alone a teen on his own!!! (Even after this I still can't bring myself to hate Johnny) Panda - I'm not sure what to think. I'm hoping that it won't be turning in to some boring relationship and that Peter gets back into detective mode soon. As much as I get annoyed with Drew acting like the brat that he is, I do think that he gave in too soon this time. He should have held his grudge for a few more days, it would have made it more convincing. And I don't hate Panda - but how are they "in love" after what 2 days??? After everything that they have been through!!! I'm happy about Peter being on screen and all...but come on!!! Which is why I think him going back to work and getting into that gun holster will make up for a few things here and there!!! Morag's face when ever Ash is around

Reo Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 But i havent seen him want for freedom like a person is desperate for something,I have seen him say he wants out and then when the other said the same you saw his eyes widen and thought there might be hope..But overall there just hasnt been much for me to see that he is desperate to get out of there. Its like,He has meant to have been staying with Sally for awhile now and the few times he is seen there with other characters that live in the house,They are acting all friendly but its odd to watch because it hasnt been shown much before. When Ric and Alf were joking about him being let down by a girl(When it was about Johnny)It just felt weird to watch and when he is around them he doesnt act like he has settled into the house,He is just there. I guess its hard to explain,But from what i have seen it just doesnt show everything that it is meant to,to get me feeling sorry for him and showing that he has tried to set up a life away from the gang.

He was reluctant to take up Sally's offer in the first place, he only decided to move in after Johnny told him to or convinced him to. I guess he knows that he is decieving him them and feels guilty about it, so may be that's why he seems unsettled??? Rocco is confusing to say the least!!!
claire_louise Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 I know what you mean Reo. I don't know what it is exactly, but I do find it hard to sympathise with Rocco. Don't get me wrong, I can see that he's in a difficult situation and must be scared, but it doesn't really come across very well. Sometimes he just doesn't seem very bothered about the whole thing. There have also been a couple of things that have shown his darker side, and I don't think he's as innocent as he seems. He's definitely an interesting character though.
