Jack Holden Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 The problem with the Martha storyline is that we're meant to empathise with her, but they've handled it so badly that she comes across as annoying. As someone who has experienced panic attacks, I don't find these scenes particularly realistic. Yes, sometimes people have trouble breathing and feel like they're going to die, but the whole point is that it's in your head. You don't roll around on the floor like you're having a heart attack. It seems to me that they wanted a decent storyline for Martha but couldn't think of anything better. I think she comes across as annoying because IMo she is such a weak actress

Ryan Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 The thing I find with Martha is she isn't a great actress and she seems to be endlessly getting involved in the most ridiculous and boring plots. However when her and in a way Jack act like normal nineteen year olds coming home pissed a night, getting caught in sticky positions etc etc, it's quite fun, quite entertaining.
