I know what you mean Ryan, it's harder to feel empathy for the characters who think they've lost their loved ones when we know fine well that they are all alive! On the other hand, we could see how much the characters in the bush were deteriorating and how desperately they needed to be found, which was kind of frustrating when back home the other characters were talking about calling off the search!

It was so obvious they'd be found though, apart from the fact that they'd never kill off 5 characters at once (I won't count Colin because he was only brought in for this storyline), they'd never show us all of those people just slowly dying on screen!

After just watching the rescue episode I must say Im pretty dissapointed. This storyline has gone on for so long, I thought when they actually rescued them wasn't very good, it was a bit of an anti-climax. I would have liked to have seen Jack and Tashas reaction when they were told Robbie and Martha were alive. I also thought when we see the reunion of Jack/Martha, and Tasha/Robbieit wasnt all that emotional and happy...then again its probably just me that thinks that!!

What Belle said confused me though, she said that Amanda wasnt on her 'list' of important things, but surely having just thought she was going to die she would have loved the chance to get to know her mother?? I've never understood why Belle has refused to give her a chance, its not even Amandas fault that Belle has only just met her.

One thing made me laugh though-the fact that Alf wasn't even there to see Martha come back!!!! Silly Alf going on the plane!!!!!

I liked today's episode, although the rescue was a bit lame. I liked seeing the deterioration of the characters and I think it was good they dragged the storyline out.

I think Jack was too stunned and thankful that Martha was back to be emotional. Although I agree Tasha never really seemed too bothered.

And how did Leah tell Brad about Amanda's reaction to the bite? She wasn't even there!

I totally agree with everything you just said there, I think this was a very lame episode that totally lacked credibility. I mean who believeable is it that they were found purely because a pain in Amanda's leg led them to them? Search and rescue teams spent 3 weeks (not exactly sure correct me if I'm wrong) searching and having spent $50 000 found nothing, then all of a sudden Amanda gets a pain in her leg and just 'knows' where they are, they're then all found alive and everyones happy! Even for Home and Away this was a little far streched. The fact that not one of them died having spent 3 weeks or so lost in the bush, with barely any food or water, in what I am assuming are pretty hot and dry conditions (due to the bush fires mentioned a couple of weeks ago) it is extremely hard to believe that they are all alive and mostly well, and that not one of them is in a critical condition. Although I am glad that this storyline is over as I found it extremely boring and frustrating. Also, what happened to Colin? Was he mentioned and does anyone know what happened to him?

^ Colin was apparently airlifted to a hospital in the city. Would have been nice to see him again so they could finish off the storyline properly but obviously the producers didn't want to pay his wages for another episode.

The last two episodes have been bizarre. Fridays was one of the best I have seen for a long time, with everyone finally coming to the conclusion that their loved ones were dead. I particularly thought Robbie's despair was excellent and the scenes with Beth and Matilda were fantastic. Then they go and spoil the whole thing by the lame way they were found. There was so much potential for some fantastic scenes but it just seemed very flat. I too would have liked to have seen Beth actually telling Jack and Tasha everyone had been found rather than her just looking at them then cutting to the hospital. It was also disappointing to not have Alf involved in the scenes, seeing as he had such a big part in the rescue operation. He was there in the diner one minute then he was suddenly off to New York in a flash. He had clearly filled his quota of episodes for the week!

The rescue was a bit underwhelming, it was such an anti-climax after seeing the characters struggling and suffering so much and having their relatives back home desperate to find them, it just seemed to lack emotion really. You'd expect the families to be more emotional, but they were all just so laid back about it, it was as though their loved ones had just walked in the door after a nice weekend away, not a 3 week ordeal where they could have died and were practically presumed to be dead anyway!

The Amanda and Macca bit was funny the way she had her hand stuck in the filter and the way Macca was pushed in the water , Irene was jumping into conclusions but i dont blame her because she saw Macca and topless and Amanda in a robe, she should let Amanda explain first and Belle should accept her now because she genuinly does want to know her.

I thought the Macca bit was pretty stupid, it was just obvious that he was going to fall in, it was just cringeworthy. Why the hell did Amanda need help getting out of the pool once her arm was free anyway? Doesn't she have pool ladders?

Totally agree. Although I've really warmed to Amanda lately, the writers need to stop thinking of her as a pantomime character. They've given her much better storylines in the past few weeks and made her more likeable, but they still revert to cliched rubbish every now and again. I guess it will take time.
