It totally was lifted straight from Friends! My brother and I couldnt believe how stolen it actually was - we were waiting for Martha to make some comment after Jack said he didnt like marriage, like "I've seen this storyline in Friends - i know what happens!"

I mean, I knew she wouldnt say it, but I wish she had!

I think this proposal was far to rushed and I dont think Martha and Jack have that much chemistry on scene, but it was stil really cute if not a little cringeworthy!!! I loved Colleens party though!! Some hilarious one liners as we have seen in the line of the week thread.

Dan and Leah  - Awww their so cute!! I think there so perfect for eachother and cant wait for them to properly get back together!!

I have to agree. They've been back together for only 13 weeks, (I did the calculations on my phone) which translates to about 3-4 months. I know it's not unreal and does happen in real life, but they hadn't know each other that long a time before that, only a few months. To me, that is slightly rushed. They've not actually done anything to make them more realistic as a couple (Kisses and cuddles etc for no reason) until one little thing the other day when Jack was going out of the diner when they said I love you, which I could have sworn was the first time I've heard them say it since the cyclone. I mean, being a fan of course I'm happy, I just think them waiting a little longer wouldn't have killed them.

I think the wirters should have put more emphasis on the "let's do it now" thing, if that's how it was intended to be. Otehrwise it did seem a bit random and sudden, but it was sweet, I agree. I liked how they actually showed some preparation and thinking about it, not just squeeze it on the end of a scene.

Jack and Martha have hardly done anything together to actually justify wanting to get married! So yeah, they've known eachother a few months and they get on well, but we never see them doing much together. It all seems very rushed really, we've never really seen them as a couple that much, but all of a sudden they're getting married!

It seems to have been done just to lead up to Non!Zoe's ending

I thought that too. It was like they just wanted a big occasion as an excuse to bring her back whilst having everyone together, and Jack and Martha are the only couple in summer bay still together that are yet to get married.

I think Jack and Martha would make a good married couple. But I think it is a bit soon. They should have waited and made a bit more of the storyline. For example it could make other couples realise their feelings or something. I just think there needs to be something else to the storyline to make it more original.

If they needed a big occasion, it would have been more believable if Tony and Beth had got married or if Leah and Dan had decided to renew their vows. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect H&A to have realistic storylines, but what I do want is realistic characters. I just don't believe that Jack and Martha would act like that in real life. When they had the initial chat about marriage and kids, Jack seemed genuinely surprised that Martha had even thought about those things. It clearly hadn't crossed his mind until that point, and yet the next day he's proposing? It wouldn't happen.
