Leah and Vinnie

When Vinnie revealed that he was still alive, and Leah went ahead and married Dan, doesn't that make her a bigamist? She married him in full knowledge that her husband was alive. And Dan's brother knew, so being a policeman, doesn't that make him guilty too?

Many apologies if this has been discussed before, but I'm new to this! It was prob discussed at the time of the eps being aired, but can't find any threads for it.

But dosen't it say in his papers that his dead...?

Didn't he come to VJ's birthday party and leave Leah a note explaining and that he wanted her to be happy, giving her a chance to come with him?

As has been said above (but I'll add to it anyway :P)...

Officially, Vinnie Patterson is dead. Therefore officially, Leah was allowed to legally marry someone else.

Any issues Leah might have had about marrying while "the-guy-who-used-to-be-vinnie" is still out there, would have been her own personal issues. But legally and officially everything was above board.

I believe the episode in which Leah read Vinnie's letter she accepted that Vinnie and her and VJ could never be together again and so that cleared up any emotional issues she might have had about remarrying.

I think that covers all aspects of your question :)

She was given a choice, and Leah after a long though that lasted 10 mins. To keep him dead, as she did not want VJ and her self on the path to no where.

So as only her and Jessie, and Baker actually now about it, it is not braking the law or is it.

Maybe Vinnie will pop up in the future and ruin the illusion for Leah.

That would be good.LOL

Legally Vinnie is dead, so her marriage to Dan is not illegal n the eyes of the law. The problem I always had with this story though was that Leah is supposed to be the good religious Greek girl. The question is therefore, legal or not, is it morally right, as Leah actually knows that Vinnie is alive. If she did not know that then it would be a different matter, but she does know.

So the question is this for me: Legally Leah is not a bigamist, but is she one morally?
