Home and Away or Neighbours?

In answer to the question - Home and Away definately. I cant believe Neighbours is still on, it should have been axed years ago.

I actually used to prefer Neighbours and was a huge fan in the 1980s, however since the Mid 1990s Neighbours has been terrible. I gave up watching ages ago.

And I agree with what others have said about why Neighbours is more popular. Home and Away is on a smaller channel which less people watch overall. Correct me if im wrong but wasnt Home and Away the most popular out of the 2 soaps when it was on ITV?

I think Neighbours is better these days. I watch a couple of episodes of each per week (on average), due to work and uni commitments.

For years I'd have said H&A was best, but recently I can't sit through an entire episode of H&A without getting bored / getting irritated by the stupidity of the storylines / laughing out loud at Holly Brisley's 'acting'. Whereas when I watch Neighbours, I get interested in what's happening and actually want to watch the next episode. I find that in H&A the storylines are more melodramatic, supposedly to 'hook' the viewers, but with Neighbours the characters are the important thing; the storylines might be 'smaller' but the characters draw me in and make me fond of them. I care what happens to the characters in Neighbours, and that's why I watch. With H&A I might get interested in who the stalker is / who shot whoever / who someone's long lost parent is, but the mystery factor often leads to an anti-climax - and then when the mystery is solved, I find I don't care enough about the characters to tune in the next day.

Neighbours all the way for me.

Em, I'd say Home and Away, but....

...Neighbours can be really good every now again IMO, take some of the recent Paul/Harold storyline.

But then again we get a storyline featuring Connor etc etc, you know, storylines that are so crap you can't believe your eyes. What I think I'm trying to say is that I feel Neighbours lows are lower or more frequent.

I used to like Neighbours but when i started watching home and away i realised that the acting was soooo much better in home and away. Home and Away seems alot more popular at my school. I like it much better than Neighbours too!!
