Home and Away or Neighbours?

I like both, for different reasons, but saying that I have only started watching Neighbours again since around the plane crash storyline.

I stoped watching H&A when it went off ITV. I have been watching H&A regular since about erm September 2004.

I used to watch both shows regular, years ago but like anyone! sometimes hectic lifestlye and not been intresting in tv for a long while. I didn't watch tv for about 3yrs.

Neighbours, is boring, I find Home and away interesting and most of all its enjoyable to

I agree with the most of what you've said - only I have never watched an episoide of 'Neighbours' in my life.

However - "Home and Away" has had far more success internationally. Think of Julian McMahon, Guy Pearce, Craig McLauchlin, Dani Minogue, Dee Smart, Naomi Watts, Justine Clarke, Tempany Deckart, Ilsa Fisher and Melissa George - to name a few.

Guy Pearce and Craig Mclachlan were on Neighbours originally. Heath Ledger was another actor to come from Home and Away, even if he wasn't in it for very long.

I do generally prefer Neighbours to Home and Away, but I still watch H&A and love it. I don't buy this whole theory of them trying to copy each other's storylines anymore. Or how people say either show is better just because of viewing figures.

Home and Away is so much better. It just isn't as popular in UK because its on Ch 5 whereas Neighbours in on BBC1.

Neighbours is far less popular at home than it is here. I think Neighbours is actually written more for an overseas market...at least that is the impression that I get. I used to like it a lot but this last five years or so it has lost its edge. Home And Away has always been my favourite though. It is just what I want when i come home. Plenty of drama withut being too depressing...like the UK's EE, it also has its lighter comedy moments, it rarely rains in Summer Bay, and the characters are more interesting. The stories are better too.

Well I watch Home and Away more often then Neighbours. The characters and storylines in Neighbours are boring. The quality is much better on Home and Away. I joined a Neighbours forum a while ago but haven't been on it in yonks! I love Home and Away! Neighbours should get canned, it doesn't get any where near the ratings as Home and Away. I do like Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy) though.

I think a lot of the characters in Neighbours put me off as well. In addition to the oldies I mentioned earlier, I didn't really like any characters apart from Karl and Susan. And where were all the hot guys?!

Home and away is so much better! Quite a few people watch Home And Away in New Zealand, hardly anybody watches Neighbours, most people watch Shortland Street!
