What storylines have Home and Away done that no soap has ever done anything like?

The only one I can think of is the ferry sinking.

Remember, it has to be completely different.

Built up a well thought out storyline... and then use a guest character as the evil being (Stalker storyline, Angie's death etc...)

Yep. Home and Away sure loves it's guest characters more than any other soap I've seen. I still don't know if it's a good thing or not. I sometimes feel the guesties are all the interesting characters, and the main ones are boring and "meh". But at other times it's cool H&A has this sort of index of guest characters it can bring in and out whenever they are needed.

I'm no too sure if I like that they use guest characters as the baddies. I thought things were going to be good with Jesse as Chloe's killer, but it all ended too quickly.

I think Amanda is the first main character they've ever had as a baddie. Which is one thing, if the only thing, I like about her.

But having watched the aussie episodes

I don't really see her as a baddie at all now. She's just a woman who got mixed up in things that were too big for her to cope with. She came into the show while she was in the middle of going through all this, so it seemed like she was bad. But now we realise she was just desperate. I'm not saying she didn't do bad things. But some people will do anything when they're desperate. Some will give up.

Oh yeah! KK were VERY original. I'm quite proud of H&A for having the guts to come up with and do that.
