Hey!! So todays episode was probably one the best episodes of the show for a long time. I thought it was really good ( a bit cheesey but this is home and away after all). Kate Richie really is a brilliant actress!!

Hey!! Did anyone else think the scene on the beach when Sally was scattering the ashes was a bit creppy? It was good to see Flynn's dad and sister at the funeral though. I thought Cassie was very good in the funeral episode which is surprising considering I usually just wanna scream at the TV when shes on.

Got a reply from rte about their treatment of the show last week. Maybe others did too, but heres what i got anyway. Looks like just one more day of no 6.30 show to put up with anyway.

Thank you for your e-mail.

We very much regret the disappointment caused to you by the dropping of the 6.30pm repeat of Home and Away during week one of World Cup 2006 coverage on RTÉ Two. RTÉ's Head of Schedule Planning makes the following comment.

"Unfortunately World Cup coverage causes major disruption to the RTÉ Two schedule. Due to the large number of live matches it was simply not possible to schedule Home and Away on RTÉ Two over a 6 day period from June 12th - 16th and Monday 19 June. Home and Away will return to the teatime schedule on RTÉ Two from Tuesday June 20.

We accept that this has inconvenienced viewers, however we have endeavoured to keep disruption of the schedule to a minimum."

I would like to assure you that your complaint was included in our Audience Log, and circulated for information to senior management in the programme division, including the Head of Schedule Planning.

With best regards

Nina Ward

RTÉ Information Officer

I've missed all sorts of episodes in recent weeks due to the World Cup, and then with Charlie Haughey's death during the week, I was sure the Flynn death and funeral episodes wouldn't be on my tape when I finally got to sit down and watch it today.

But luckily enough, they were - and they were two great episodes.

Ric was annoying me a little the way he wouldn't go up to Flynn and sulked through the death episode, but it was a nice moment when he finally did.. even if him calling Flynn "Dad" was a little too corny.

The funeral episode was really well done, and I loved how that nurse from the hospital (dohn't know her name but she's ALWAYS on duty) was in the church for the funeral. Great to see Pippa back too, for Sally's sake. It wouldn't have felt right of Pippa hadn't been by her side throughout the ordeal.

And what a performance from Kate Ritchie.. it's hard not to feel for Sally after growing up with her...

I missed Fridays episode due to the coverage of the funeral. I had sent them an email the day before asking them if H&A would be moved in the schedule in order to screen the funeral, they didnt reply till Friday afternnoon.

Earlier in the week I sent them an email to say how much of a disgrace it was that they dropped the evening slot without warning. I told them that wont it have been a better idea to have taken H&A off the air instead like they use to do every other Summer. Here's the reply I received....

Thank you for your e.mail. 'Home and Away' is being shown on RTE at 1.25 in the afternoon Monday to Friday.

I'm sorry if you have been disappointed or inconvenienced by the current scheduling of 'Home and Away' . However, we had no option but to keep it in the schedule as a large chunk of our audience who watch television in the afternoon would be left without a choice for far too long. Our aim is to strike a balance between our regular viewers who follow the popular soaps while trying to ensure that World Cup soccer fans are also kept happy.. As you can appreciate, it's a difficult act to balance with only two channels.

We appreciate you taking the time to write to us to air your views. Your comments on this matter have been logged and passed on to our Scheduling department. Again our apologies for the inconvenience.

With every good wish.

M ire Nic Fhinn,

Information Officer

But anyway yes Kate Ritchie's performance throughout this storyline has been amazing. Im so glad she won an award for it.
